Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Went to see Scott Bennett (great upcoming comedian - no complaints). We booked within days of the date being announed, when we arrived we were allocated seats on the back row No option,no refund - despite my wife suffering from claustrophobia. Eventually the manager got her a door seat ON HERE OWN. Other groups were split up or had seats double booked. A joke!

Went to watch just the tonic comedy club, 3 comediennes on including Lindsey Santoro who was fantastic. Night was made even better by the 2 security men who bent over backwards to help my wife who suffers with a bad back, they got us in half an hour before official opening time so she could sit in comfort.

Dreadful in pretty much every respect. The compère believes that VERY frequent use of the “F“ word constitute comedy - wrong as is slating members of the audience extremely unfunny.
Why on arrival, did we have to stand and watch somebody clean the table we were to be seated that could that table not of been cleaned prior to we being taken to that table?
Simple question raised of am amber of staff resulted in the answer being given as “I’m not 100% sure“ what she meant to say was but couldn’t bring yourself to so do was “I don’t know“ staff training would be useful as well as the ability and desire to actually communicate although that would be difficult with the level of noise being pounded out through speakers making conversation with the person sitting next to me impossible never mind staff One question – asked for time – and ever more simple terms – resulted in don’t know!
Interminable delay between “access” which were pretty dreadful not an enjoyable experience
We were there to see Reginald D Hunter who came on either drunk orSimply couldn’t be bothered. While on stage, he asked one of his roadies, managers, agent, flunkies: whatever “ have I done 20 minutes yet“ - he hadn’t!
Everything about the evening and venue was disagreeable in the extreme I would not recommend this venue for any purpose or any act until and unless the staff have some training leadership and learn what courtesy is.

I went to the Metronome last night for the BBC Introducing gig. It was great to get out for some live music after so long. I know there were some tricky arrangements and rules the venue had to manage and implement with patrons more used to mingling and not paying that much attention to signage, table service etc. However, in every interaction I had with staff they were all very friendly, informative, polite etc. I don't imagine it was the easiest thing to manage. Thanks, well done and looking forward to going back there again. Also, the sound in the auditorium was excellent.

I went in Feb and it was an evening show, in the city you can imagine panicking at the thought of having to queue in the cold and dark!! But metronome let every attender wait inside for the gig, I’m not sure if this happens with every event as this was my first one, but it made the night so much more stress free. The building is beautiful inside and the actual gig room is ideal, it’s intimate and you’re right next to the artist. My only issue was that the signing for the band was after the show, and with long queues it can be difficult to know exactly what time you’re leaving, which might be difficult if you’re getting a bus/train back. Nevertheless, I can’t wait for an artist I like to go to metronome again, it’s become one of my favourite venues just from that one night.

Metronome is a super sophisticated facility with contemporary interior and a laid back atmosphere. The venue was designed thoughtfully, providing separate holding stations for checking-in, lounging near the bathrooms and a bar situated close to the stage. I think it's most appropriate that the bar is separated from the music venue, it means you're not competing over the sound systems to ask for a drink or have a chat during a break.
The sound quality was notably great - finally no pounding bass. This venue really knows it's market, appealing to musicians and music lovers alike, and has provided Nottingham with the music venue it deserves. Can't wait to visit again!
