Good for Families
Jul 2021
Our family visited here whilst on holiday. The poor staff were having a hard time as all the tills had just gone down but they were really friendly and working extra hard writing out everything manually. The seating wasn't the comfiest I've sat in but the place was really keen and they were doing a great job of following all covid protocols.

Dated and overpriced
Feb 2020
For a standard cinema screen, Cineworld Nottingham does not provide a great experience, the seating is tatty and dated, it feels very underwhelming. The clientele it attracts are not always savoury types - I've often seen phones out in the cinema, people talking too loudly and overly loud rustling of popcorn. On top of this, they do sell some seats that are extremely close to the screen, this would be ok if the seats were sold at a discount price, however, a flat rate of £11.20 for full paying adults makes this cinema leave you questioning what you're actually paying for.

Great film, lousy seating.
Nov 2019 • Family
If you go to cineworld I hope you dont end up in screen 1. They've just put in new seats and they are so uncomfortable unless you are over about 5'6" headrests are all wrong ended up having to put my jumper behind me to ease my back. Very disappointed, cheap vinyl seats that are hard and uncomfortable.

Served by Michael at the till. Easy to talk to and approachable. Absolutely sublime and he gets the job done easily and is also a right laugh.

Does the job
Sep 2019 • Couples
It’s alright, seats are good, sound and screens are great.
Food + drink is expensive, very expensive.

It’s a good central city cinema.

I avoid if possible
Mar 2019 • Solo
Over the years I’ve learnt to avoid this place. Awful loos, over priced refreshments, people sat playing on their phones as a film plays, long queues, disinterested staff, I only visited to see a film that I knew would not be shown at The Broadway and I couldn’t wait to see it on dvd.

Too Hot to Watch
Sep 2019 • Friends
So we went to see IT Chapter 2 today on screen 5. And we prepared ourselves for a long 3 hour movie experience. I treated myself to some pic ‘n’ mix and a large Pepsi Max. We headed into the screen and sat down. Within about an hour I had to leave as it was too hot in their and it was making me feel drowsy. It just got worse throughout the long movie. Management said their was an issue with the air conditioning. Which is fine but for a three hour movie? This was not acceptable. £43 Tickets and £15 Food for an unpleasant and uncomfortable cinema experience is not good.

Ebony is a mug
Sep 2019 • Family
Me and darling chums went to go and watch the hit sequel to the horror film IT (based on the Stephen king novel) when all of a sudden.... tragedy struck our path was blocked by the staff member going by the Alias of Ebony, as a 15 year old male as of March 2019 I was the legal age to watch this film. However this staff member insisted we show proof of our ages, which as I’m sure many 15 year olds will know isn’t easy to come by as I can’t say this for many but in Nottingham we don’t carry our passports and birth certificates and I don’t yet attend a school which grants me a student ID and I don’t own a bus pass as I use the very well known Nottingham tram network. After trying many ways to work around this pickle, each being refused by the evil employee that is Ebony, and being unable to even get a refund for the almost £50 we had spent on the tickets. We know ebony was just tying to do her job but her attitude was completely unacceptable and I would be ashamed to have such a disgraceful employee working for my business and I think the manager for the Nottingham branch of this once good establishment should start hiring staff that at least make an effort to make money for the company they work for. Furthermore to add insult to injury we had to wait 38 minutes to get through to anyone on the cineworld hotline and when we did get through the gentleman on the other end was even more unhelpful them Ebony
( somehow ). After explaining our issue multiple times to this man he just ignored us and eventually we ended up back on hold, I used to think of cineworld as such a fun and well respected company but now I will have to take my business to savoy or showcase. Please buck up your ideas cineworld

Regards, Johnathon

Don't bother

It's great if you don't mind being surrounded by chavs talking, playing on phones and messing around through most films. We have unlimited cards and have been going for years but it's getting steadily worse, go to the Showcase instead.
