Was welcomed warmly, we were a group of 3 children and 2 adults of mixed riding abilities. This unfortunately was the only positive. Had pre booked through Forest Holidays and asked to state age, height and weight 3 times as well as being asked to stand on the scale pre-riding. All a bit excessive. Upon allocation of horses, the staff were rude at times stating 'she can't even hold the rein properly' and 'don't kick, would you kick a dog like that'. We understand the care and well being of the horses are a priority but the manner in which messages were conveyed were unprofessional and rude at times. The 1 hour hack was mainly on the road, through a car park and at a very very slow walk with some young staff members who acted like they would rather be anywhere in the world than on a hack with us. Upon return, my daughter asked if she could feed the horses an apple and one of the staff said yes however another member of staff then shouted at my daughter accusing her of not being considerate to the horses as they may have allergies. My daughter was really upset at being spoken to in this way. She rides every week and loves and respects horses. We were really disappointed in this hack and our treatment by the staff.

My first visit to this Centre. The horses were lovely, well mannered, Buster was very affectionate. The quality of the lessons was high, I learnt so much. The side saddle experience was interesting, Ted really is a gentle giant, I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to return to have more. Huge thanks to Sharon and staff for making my time so enjoyable and I cannot leave. Review without mentioning Buster, Ted and the sweet Pandora who legally looked after me. I can highly recommend this centre

What an amazing place ! I took my son (age 7) for his first Horse riding experience while we were on holiday in the local area.

My son was initially a little nervous but the staff were very helpful and soon put him at ease as he was helped up on a beautiful Cob Pony called Pippin. We took the 1 hour trek and the two young ladies guided us through the fantastic countryside and scenery.

My son had a smile from ear to ear the whole time as the ladies chatted to him :-) and will have a fantastic tale to tell his friends when hes back at school.

Id like to thank Gail who sorted out our riding gear and helped my son get ready and afterwards took the time in her very busy day to chat to him about his experience. What a Star Gail is for the center!

Simply wonderful Center / staff and Horses

Thank you for making my sons holiday a memorable one!

I cant recommend enough :-)

In the middle of a warm, sunny spell, we chose a rainy day for our hack but it was still enjoyable. Friendly staff, great scenery and a lovely lunch at the pub, pre-arranged.

Kennedy was a wonderful young lady, who was so kind to kajus and helpful. she chatted the whole way with me and my son, and made his day. so if anyone takes there little one for pony trekking definitely ask Kennedy she is a credit to the company.
She made my sons day, and gave me lots of information for my daughter who had started lessons.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

We booked this activity through our holiday company. Daughter was a little apprehensive but when we got there she instantly felt relaxed the staff were friendly and positivity filled the air.

My daughter rode Pippin and was walked by Scarlett. It was a 40 minute walk which went through the local creswell crags. My daughter absolutely loved it and had great conversations with Scarlett.

Part the way through the walk Scarlett stopped so we could take photos of our daughter on Pippin.

I really couldn’t recommend this place enough.

CARRIAGE DRIVING LESSON
What an amazing experience this was. Despite my love for horse riding my love for eating and hate of exercise means I am too heavy to go horse riding. Thankfully Gail suggested trying carriage driving instead and what an experience it was.
Learning how to harness and hook the horse to the carriages was mind blowing, so much that I even forgot how to put a bridle on (how embarrassing!).
Gail was very patient giving me instructions and didn't punish me too much when I inadvertently tried to get the horse to go faster by whipping the reins!! Never done it before but must have come from watching too many westerns on TV. I managed to stop myself doing it again but the eagle-eyed Gail noticed each aborted move.
I managed to steer around the many ramblers around the Cresswell Caves and must have been doing a reasonable job as one family asked where they could get on the carriage for a ride – they may not have been so keen if I had L plates on.
It was a fabulous experience and was lovely be around horses again. I have some other experiences to try out to celebrate my 60th but this is one I will certainly be returning to. Gail – I will even try making that weird telephone noise you make.
Thank you again for an amazing time, Can certainly recommend this activity to all but especially to those like me who love being around horses but are too heavy to ride.

I have just come returned with my family from the most special horse experience holiday I have ever had. I chose this holiday to celebrate the big 50! My 3 boys went on the horse treks and also had a lesson. They were inexperienced riders but felt totally supported and looked after throughout. I learnt to harness a wonderful and easy temperament-wise horse called Rio for carriage riding and went on two carriage rides in nearby Creswell Crags, truly magical!

All the staff were highly professional in their approach and manner and really friendly and approachable.

This stables is clearly an extremely happy place, where both staff and horses are expertly managed and looked after with great care and sensitivity.

We were extremely blessed with the weather as well, which was dry and sunny for our three days.

I would highly recommend booking a horse experience here, well worth every penny.

Thank you so much to everyone involved at the CCEC as the experiences our girls have had have been amazing. They have learnt riding skills and equally life skills. We are truly appreciative of the support and guidance that Sharon, Gail and the rest of the team have given our daughters. Thank you for everything and long may it continue.
