The earliest built brick building in the county. Built by Sir William Pierrepont in 1500 and still lived in by his descendants, the house surrounds a Courtyard Garden of 1875 possibly influenced by Nesfield on three sides with the local Parish Church of St Edmund on the fourth. The East Garden which was laid out in 1973 has a winter flower garden full of snowdrops, aconites, daffodils and hellebores among other plants. The wild Tulipa Sylvestris which has been here since the 17th century flowers in the park. The house has family portraits and regional furniture and welcomes groups on guided tours throughout the year. The house is also available for weddings, meetings, seminars and other such events.

Having checked a few local venues, we chose Holme Pierrepont as the perfect place for our big day. Robert is great, really laid back but can't do enough to help. Absolutely no hassle before,on or after the big day. The house and gardens are superbly maintained and people have constantly told us what a perfect venue it was for our... More

The scenery is stunning, the house beautiful, the rooms genuine and not covered over with minimalist new plaster. We were married in the church next door which again was very beautiful. The venue itself is just that, a venue, you have to organise the food, drinks, bands etc yourself. they have lists of suppliers on hand and it is all... More

The hall mounts craft fairs once or twice a year which offer something different and also at sensible prices.

Should your group be looking for somewhere lovely to go near Nottingham, I sure you will have a most enjoyable time at Holme Pierrepont Hall. Our group of retirees had a lovely time here. Our tour guide, Robert is an excellent speaker and kept us entertained all afternoon.

Holme Pierrepont Hall and Gardens is one of those little gems you find occasionally hidden away along narrow lanes. However, beware of the HUGE sleeping policeman as you pass Blotts on the way there. Lovely garden with paddocks and woodland beyond and a period home, still lived in, by two sets of the family. Well worth a visit.

I attended my cousin's wedding here. The grounds are gorgeous and the church attached to the Hall is beautiful, intimate and lovely.

I was out hiking when I passed Holme Pierepont Hall and discovered that it was open for visitors in the afternoon so I finished my walk and returned to the hall. It is open on certain days and belongs to the Historic Houses Association. The gardens are inbtriguing and there were new lambs in the field when I visited. The... More

Our daughter got married here 7 years ago, which was a wonderful experience, when we felt privileged to be able to share this beautiful place with the owners. This year we returned with our new granddaughter and recreated some of the wedding photos + the baby!

We caught this garden just at a perfect time. It was full of cherry blossom, bluebells, tulips, daffodils and many other plants which while I can't name, I can certainly appreciate. The house is also beautiful and well worth a look round. We even had some extra information and history from one of the family members who is obviously passionate... More
