About
Sat at the foot of the trendy 'Hockley' area of Nottingham, Bunkers Hill is only a stones throw from the city centre and Old Market Square. Famous for it's extensive and bohemian selection of drinks, the bar offers a range of six cask ales, two traditional real-ciders, the biggest selection of bottled beers the company can boast, an extensive wine list plus a range of fun, exciting and classic spirits.A daily food menu is accompanied by a weekday buy-one-get-one-free offer on their 12" pizzas. Food is served everyday from opening at 11am through until 7pm. As well as pizzas the menu also offers a range of toasted paninis as well as a mouth-watering selection of cakes, cookies and muffins that compliments the barista-style coffee machine.Besides a great range of drinks and a popular pizza menu the bar can also boast a great reputation for live music. An upstairs private-hire room is perfect for laying on live music and an in-house promotor ensures the venue plays host to a wide range of local and national talent. Previous acts to have graced the Bunkers Hill stage include; Adele, Vampire Weekend and Mumford & Sons.

I have been here a few times now and have never had a bad experiance, the staff are friendly and attentive, the food is amazing, it has a great variety of drinks and all the sport you could watch. It is one of those places you don't want to shout about otherwise you wouldnt get a table but you want to shout about so people know how great it is!! Well done all involved 👏

RUDE!! AWFUL service.. AVOID AVOID
Me and 3 friends walked in , and the sign said wait to be seated .. so we waited and waited and waited .. for about 10 minutes .. the staff milling about clearly saw us waiting and ignored us .. no Hello or Welcome.
We then made ourselves known to a staff member who abruptly said ‘in a minute’ and walked off... after a further 5 minutes, we were sick of waiting and found a table for ourselves.
Another 5 minutes of waiting we were just about to get up and leave but a staff member came over to take our order... at this point we were quite frustrated.. all we wanted was to be acknowledged and a ‘hello guys, we’ll be with you in a second’ would have been more than enough.
At this point , keen to share our feelings I asked the staff member Why it had taken so long for anyone to acknowledge us and say Hello or welcome? , and I said ‘we were just actually about to leave for this reason ‘
The staff member shrugged and said ‘Well leave then!!’ .. he then aggressively ripped the menu out of my friends hand! And a told us to get out!!
Absolutely shocked and disgusted , this place clearly doesn’t value its customers, all this staff member had to do was apologise and recognise his mistake and everything would have been fine .
Even in McDonalds the staff members acknowledge you and treat you with some decency!!

We visited this pub for the first time on a Sunday evening after a Panthers Ice Hockey game (arena round the corner) as a group of 6. The range of beers was excellent and a themed 90's quiz was enjoyed by several teams who participated. The atmosphere was lively with friendly staff and clientele. We chose to eat from the "bucket" menu which were plentiful and reasonably priced. The venue does have 2 TV screens with Sky Sports but you can take it or leave it as not a dominant feature. Overall a very enjoyable 3.5 hours spent and would highly recommend for pre and post Arena events plus for Forest and Notts Co matches. No doubt equally positve as part of an evening down town. We will return.

Not been for. While and won’t be back either. Beer is all over 4-450 a pint and then there’s the 2/3 reds of a pint ruse as well which ended up with two pints (4.5% Craft ale - whatever that is) for £11.40
And surely bar staff who probably get that way because every customer moans. Come on guys - this is a city centre traditional pub not a you ppy London bar.

Great beers and ciders, nice atmosphere. The 7.2% cider I had was the dog’s knees. Delicious. Barman looking a bit like Van Gogh, (pre ear chop) knew his drinks

Enjoy this place for drinks after work on a Friday evening. They offer a massive array of beers. Only downside is its pretty expensive compared to other places in the area.

On our way to the arena to see ELO but rather than buying the normal average price-inflated beer which you often get at concert venues we thought we'd call in at Bunkers Hill. Firstly it was a battle just to reach the bar as tables blocked your way. I wished they'd made it impossible to reach the bar as firstly I asked for a pint of their 3.8% Blue Monkey to be met with 'sold out'. It was very noisy so not easy to hear but no alternative was offered so I asked what was similar. Some scruffy bloke intervened and said something about a beer they had at 4.5% so I asked for 2 pints for me and the wife. The woman put the drinks in front of me and it did look ropey so before I paid i had a taste and it was dire. I said that I wanted a different beer but just got a blank look and some comment that the beer was unrefined (just like the service) and was for vegans which I am not! At this point I could see that they weren't going to change them for something more palatable so i thought about kicking off and not paying but as I was out with my wife for a rare night out I paid and told them that the way they treat customers is really dreadful. The price on the board said £3.80 but apparently that's for 2/3 of a pint and as we had pints it worked out at £11.40 for the 2 (what a joke) !! We took the beers outside and emptied both glass contents on their patio as it was the best place for them. I would never go back there ever and for what it would have cost them to change them they have lost a customer who has had to post this very negative review about their personal experience. Real ale pubs almost always have a great atmosphere serving good ale but there's always an exception to the rule and this was it. It would be their fault if ultimately they end up closing down just like many others have in that part of Nottingham. Incidentally the beer inside the Arena was less money and much better so lesson learned.
