Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A Vibrant Hub for Performing Arts* My visit to Nottingham Playhouse, also known as Bonington Theatre, was an evening of delightful entertainment and cultural immersion. The theater's intimate atmosphere and excellent acoustics made for an immersive experience, whether watching a play, musical, or dance performance. The program of events is diverse and high-quality, catering to a wide range of tastes. The staff were friendly and helpful, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable evening. For anyone looking for a night of culture and entertainment in Nottingham, the Playhouse is an excellent choice.I bought a railcard on trainpal and got a 20% discount when I entered the RC777E code! Hope to help those who come to the UK to play~

Went to see a film last night which was excellent by the way. As a first time visitor I was impressed by the facilities. Small cosy bar area and tidy auditorium. Easy to collect tickets at the box office too.

My first experience of this location.
Is it safe ?
Very steep steps up to our seats and given the number of quite mature customers I would question the safety of this Theatre.
I also found the atmosphere quite unpleasant with quite a pungent and unpleasant smell throughout the film. It also needed a good hoovering.
Good points:
1. Very reasonably priced.
2. Local
3. Easy parking - except when you leave as it’s hectic with drivers having little regards for others.
Would I go again, I might ???

I love the Bonnington in Arnold, I've visited lots of times for a theatre event and the cinema. I especially like the cinema prices, concessions are under a fiver ! So it doesn't cost a lot for an evening out. It's great there are no annoying adverts before the film. Drinks can be taken into the cinema purchased from the bar. Great night out within walking distance if a resident in Arnold. There is plenty of parking adjacent to the Bonnington.

Great place to visit. This os just a small town Theatre, but the staff are so friendly. There is a nice little bar there where you can sit & have a drink with friends. Also the Theatre is very comfortable & cosy.

A lovely evening of Jazz with Jeanie Barton accompanied by the Bob Hudson trio.
A thoroughly entertaining event in a nice relaxed atmosphere.

I didn't expect to love the place or the show, but I did, I went to see Vicar of dibly, the tickets were cheap and it was hilarious and clever, we loved, there is a bar there and the drinks were good quality and cheap, we were also offered pre interval drinks, the access for disabilities is good there's disabled toilets and lifts, the theatre is comfortable it was hot but there was a issue with Aircon at this time, we have booked to go to see calendar girls at the end of the month and we can't wait

We came here to see the film ‘ See how they run ‘ as we had missed it at its earlier release - it was a novel experience as we usually come here for the shows they have on
We had a great time
