Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Falcon is one of a cluster of pubs which make Canning Circus my favourite part of Nottingham. It's a very small pub that stands on the island part of the Circus, some seating added outside during opening hours.

It's pretty both inside and out, with some lovely green and white patterning on the outside and cool lettering over the door. Inside, the triangular main bar, which is neat, clean, and hung with historical photos, is so snug it has the intimacy of a microbar, which encourages the clientele to chat to one another. As a visitor, I felt welcomed by the locals and by Martin the friendly and savvy barman.

Someone in another pub had recommended me the Sunday roast here, which you have to book. So I booked it, and it was indeed a splendid big dinner. Very traditional, no faffiness. I had the chicken roast, with superb roast spuds and loads of fresh cabbage, cauliflower, carrots etc., plus plenty of thick gravy. A total joy.

The quirky chef was chatty, and it was good to get the chance to compliment him. "Your name's mentioned all down Derby Road," I told him.

Much love to the Falcon.

Excellent Sunday lunch and excellent beer. Service was fantastic, couldn’t have asked for anything more. Went for a friends birthday lunch, the food was hot, loads of vegetables and extra gravy, one of the best pub Sunday lunches we have had.

The Falcon Inn was a great pub we found as we were wandering around this part of town and what a great find.
This is one great looking two roomed pub,it's only small but it is perfectly kept with lovely decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar and nice decorative features throughout this pub such as a vintage pub sign of the Falcon Inn, there's also lots of seating options spread throughout this pub, it really is one cool pub.
We were here on a Friday night, pub was packed with a great atmosphere, after a quick study of the real ales on offer my brother opted to have Titanic Brewery " 4.3% plum porter " while I opted to have Oakham Ales Brewery " citra " 4.2% both these real ales were served in tip top condition, we luckily managed to get a table were we just chilled out and took in the great pub we were in.
My real ale was outstandingly tasty, a zesty, well balanced real ale bursting with taste and very refreshing, a really well crafted real ale,my brother Stephen also gave the thumbs up to his real ale.
We really enjoyed our real ales in here and although we only stayed for the one each before we moved on for a first time visit we were very impressed with The Falcon Inn.
The Falcon Inn is easy to locate on Alfreton Road.
A great pub, well worth checking out if your in the area.

This is just a cracking two room pub. It must be one of the smallest locally I guess, but they say good things come in small packages. It's that bit out of town at Canning Circus, but worth a diversion. I could see that menus were present, but I was there for the beer.

About 30 years ago I lived in Bentinck Road and this was our stop off for a pint of (Shipstones?) on the way to town. When I stepped in the pub it was like going back in time, except there was a better beer selection. I had Snake Eyes, which is a proper nice citrus ale, and very well kept too.

If only there were more like this!

Went to Falcon Inn on a whim today for Sunday lunch, really friendly landlord who made us feel welcome. Ordered the veggie option which was absolutely wonderful, everyone else also said their food was excellent. Puddings were also delicious and the service was delightful!

Called in as a lone traveller Wednesday night after visiting family. Quiet at the time of my visit though the delightful landlady/owner (I might add traditional landlady, something too many pubs direly miss these days) made me feel very welcomed indeed. An absolutely beautiful little pub, a pub as pubs should be, which was also spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. Oh and of course the real ale was very nice with the offering of a good choice too! 10 out of 10 and well worth a visit. 🍺
