Better than before!

I've always loved funstation but this visit was even more fun. They have a new card system where the tickets go straight to the card which is loads better. 1. Because it means they don't have to order in the tickets or supply more staff which makes it cheaper for them. 2. It is better for covid because your not handling something that could have germs on. 3. Because it is better for the environment so there not wasting any paper or card. They are also very film friendly and got the chance to film for my arcade YouTube channel called arcade Aidan so check it out if you want to. Overall a great visit and would defo recommend. Just remember to subscribe to Arcade Aidan.🤣🤣🤣.

Clueless Staff, No Control and Very Expensive.

I was very disappointed with this arcade.
I had a very old funstation card and asked if it was still valid or if I’d need a new one. I said I didn’t think there was any value on it, but wanted to know if I could still use it to top up and play now. This took a while as the girl just didn’t seem to understand me despite my explaining in the simplest possible terms. She seemed completely clueless. Eventually I got given a new card so I’m guessing my old one was, as I suspected, no longer valid. It then took longer than it should to add credit on as I had to ask several times if she could top it up or if there was a machine to use.
Finally, armed with my credit, I set off to play. There was a disappointing selection of games to play, and all were very expensive. It was also very unclear how the points worked (as in how many points per £1 added). Also the odd amounts it costs to play make it very difficult (4.2 points, 2.8 points etc); why not have round numbers? It would be much easier to keep track.

There were, as you’d expect, a lot of children in the arcade. That’s fine, obviously, but many were running riot or climbing all over machines, with staff walking by and doing nothing to stop them. Very off-putting. Staff should make sure people are being respectful of the games and the other players. When paying good money to play, I don’t want to be interrupted by some kid climbing over.

The prize area was dreadful. Full of tat and all for ludicrous ticket amounts. They should take a look at American or Japanese prize shops who have much higher quality items on offer, and items for all ages, not just kids. It would make it more enticing to play to win more tickets if better prizes were on offer.

I used up the credit I had simply to keep out of a hail storm and left without using the tickets I won. I had planned to go back after my theatre show but didn’t bother. Won’t go back again.

Enjoyable but pricey
Jan 2020 • Family
Was really good. Thought the cards were really great as less fussing about as you just swipe card to spend points. When you spend your tokens that you’ve earned at the end of the day you can see what you got and how many tokens left on the screen so it’s straight forward for kids.

Staff was very attentive in any issues. So absolutely brilliant there.

Only downside was some of the games were rather pricey and costed a good amount of points for one go which soon eats quickly through your points balance.

Hooked!
Aug 2019
We go here on a regular basis which leaves a hole in my pocket but a big smile on every ones face!
There are games for all, from bowling to racing. Nostalgic games like Pacman and Space Invaders or even fair games like ring toss and bean bag throwing.
We love the range of prizes and the idea of saving up tickets for decent big prizes.
The staff are very friendly and polite.
There is a lift in The cornerhouse for puschair / wheelchairs etc for access to Funstation.

An ok arcade, clearly aimed at the family and expensive.

After coming back from China, where it is typical to have a huge arcade on the top floor of a mall, or underground inside a subway. It's nice to find one in Nottingham. I used to work at NAMCO and love arcades.

In China, all the arcades use a card system and a way to add tickets to the card, so this is great!

However, it is quite expensive. The prizes require an extremely huge amount of tickets to buy. In China, they also use tokens. Typicall, games are either 1, 2 or 3 tokens. Funstation games can be 3.6 or 4.8 tokens. The only reason for this is so you end up having .something left over and puchase more tokens.

Card system - good
Tickets - too many required to exchange for goods
Token per play - too high and annoyingly with decimal places
Games - ok selection, would be great to have some cabinets (mame cabinet, although not sure of the legalities here in the UK) where retro arcade games can be chosen (popular in China and only 1 credit per game)

Great Fun

We played indoor gol and saw this on a look around the inside of the Corner House. Must admit we walked in and were hooked. Most of the games were fun games but gave you tokens which makes the games fun that you would not normally get rewards for.

One for the kids in all of us

Who doesn't like a good old fashioned arcade!! Shame the prices don't reflect the olden days.
Plenty to keep you amused from video games, to basketball toss to ten pin bowling. Surprising how often we (30+ couple) find ourselves shoulder to shoulder with kids and parents alike. Great little distraction, just don't expect to walk out with a prize, we must have been at least 6 times and still only enough tickets for a rubber!

Best Quick Place to Spend Time in
May 2018 • Friends
I've never stumbled across an arcade place like this, it has a great system compared to traditional arcades. Instead, you buy a game card and load credits on it (I typically spend £15 on it) and play on any games you like with different token prices.
What's worth it is the fact you can collect tokens and redeem prizes so you do get something at the end. The range of prizes they have are very good, and there's so many to choose from. I like the fact that they even include expensive goods like game consoles, phones, etc and I find that something to reach for in the arcade.
There are few games that are enjoyable, and I particularly like the bowling in there too.
It's also a great place if you have nothing to do around Nottingham and have time to spare, stop by this place. Just make sure you have enough money!

The amount of tickets u have to get to actually get something worth while isn't that great and they have cut down the prize tickets so you have to put more on there now
