- Lottie B1 contributionExcellent Service and ExperienceAmazing all round and excellent service. We had booked to stay after our tour but upon arrival they had no electricity because of a tree fall. They worked to have the tour by candle light and organised an upgraded alternative by staying in a lovely hotel in Henley-on-Thames which included breakfast and travel to and from the vineyard. For such a disaster that was out of their control, they really pulled out all the stops to make sure our trip was just as enjoyable as planned - if not more! It's a shame we didn't get to see the orchard view room but we are very impressed by their commitment to their guests none the less. The tour was great. Howard was amazing, very knowledgeable and just an all round lovely guy that made us all feel very comfortable. And of course the drinks were delicious! Highly recommended 👌Thank you so much for your lovely comments on what was a very extraordinary day. Being up in the woods does have some issues but we do try to not allow these effect what we can offer our customer. Tour by candlelight gives it a new twist, one that we hope you & the other tour guests enjoyed that afternoon. Our tour guides adapt to most situations, ensuring the Tour continues as best as we can, offering their knowledge on all aspects of our business as well as sampling our delicious Wines, Ales & Liqueurs Happy that we could find an alternative accommodation & of course as a team we aim to make sure our guests have an enjoyable stay. Orchard View will be having an upgrade this year, so please do come back & see us & stay in Orchard ViewWritten 16 January 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 22 December 2022
- ChloeHever, United Kingdom39 contributionsVery enjoyable stayWent on a mother daughter getaway for the weekend, the staff were amazing and the B&B was lovely. Room was cosy and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice, and the tour was very informative and was a lot longer than we thought it would be! Very good value for money and 100% reccomend🙂What a wonderful way to have some Mother & Daughter time, weekend away in the Chiltern Countryside. Enjoying a lovely tour around our beautiful secluded Vineyard, sampling some of Wines, Ales & Liqueurs & topping off with a quiet stay in our beautiful farmhouse B&B. - Maps7082613 contributionsGreat tour, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! We spent a lovely afternoon at Chiltern Valley yesterday. We had a fascinating and very informative tour round the estate. Our tour guide was really warm and friendly and made the tour fun and interesting without too much technical jargon. The final tasting session was the icing on the cake. The wine, ale and liqueurs were all very good and we tried such a broad range. I took my dad for his Birthday and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We also bought some of the drinks we tasted from the shop afterwards and thought they were very reasonably priced. Thanks for a great day!Thank you for your kind comments, nice to hear your Dad had an enjoyable birthday with us tasting our Ales Wines & Liqueurs. Our Tour Guides try to engage the customer/group and make the tour fit with their audience, they are all very knowledgeable and make the experience fun at the same time. - janineelizabeth2016Yeovil, United Kingdom15 contributionsExcellent tour and tastingHad a fantastic tour of vineyard, winery and brewery yesterday 13/2/23. Shaun our tour guide made the whole experience interesting and accessible for everyone regardless of level of knowledge. I would go as far as to say it was the best tour and tasting I’ve had in an English vineyard/winery (and I’ve done a fair few). As a wine enthusiast I was surprised with how much I enjoyed the beers on offer and the liqueurs were excellent. Would definitely recommend the experience to anyone thinking of doing it.Wow, thank you, we do hope we are up there with some of the best Vineyards in the country with our Taste & Tour Experience but to hear it from our customers makes us feel very proud 🤗🤗 Our Tour Guides try to fit the tour with their audience, they are all very knowledgeable and make the experience fun at the same time. - Joseph HBrighton, United Kingdom69 contributionsFriendly, welcoming and knowledgeableWe booked in for a tour at 3pm on a Sunday and stayed the night in the on-site BnB. The staff on site could not be any more welcoming! There was an informative tour lasting around 1 hour and a tasting session for tasting a good selection of Beers, Wines and Spirits. Our tour guide Sean (or Shaun) was extremely knowledgeable and very hospitable! The BnB room (orchard view) was extremely clean and was perfect for what we needed. We spoke with the staff on-site who arranged a taxi to and from a local pub (the stag) which had a good menu and the food was brilliant. I would strongly recommend for couples, families or even if you are visiting alone! The tour is that welcoming, I would feel comfortable to go back. Thank you!Thank you for your lovely comments - We do try to make the Taste & Tour experience a Fun & Enjoyable tour as well as learning a little more about the Wines Ales & Liqueurs, our Tour Guides are very knowledgeable & all bring a different aspect to the tour in their unique way. You of course had the full experience having stayed in our beautiful B&B, as well as having the evening meal package at The Stag & Huntsman, they do offer a lovely meal in a friendly atmosphere. Very friendly staff, lovely barn, lovely vineyard in a beautiful location, would highly recommend. Irish cream and raspberry liquor were divine.Thank you for your lovely comments. Victoria has been with us for many years & like all of our Tour Guides has a lot of knowledge & a unique way of passing this over to our guests. - Phil153Reading, United Kingdom50 contributionsReally Good Guided TourAttended a morning tour as a birthday treat and can thoroughly recommend it! We were hosted by Howard, who was a brilliant tour guide - extremely knowledgeable of course, but also very engaging and he kept us thoroughly entertained for our two-hour tour. Having been taken around the vineyard, winery and brewery sections, we were then seated in a cosy bar area and invited to try a good selection of wines, beers and liqueurs –together with some cheese and crackers and water to clear our ‘expert’ palates! Each tester was accompanied by Howard’s expert overview of what we were about to try. A really enjoyable visit and Howard is a great ambassador for Chiltern Valley. Thanks!Thank you for a lovely review, i will certainly pass your comments on to Howard 😊 He is one of our very knowledgeable tour guides & like all they have a fun way of doing a tour, making it an enjoyable experience for all. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable and really friendly and we tasted some wonderful tasters! I think we were a little tipsy so good job we were staying in the lovely b&b on-site which was so nice and clean and the lady who cooks breakfast is just amazing 🤩 we also took up the offer of going to the local pub for a meal which was also great 😊 so overall it was a brilliant time had by us both 👍🏼What a super start you have had to Wine & Beer tasting experiences, we are very proud of our Tour guides, they are all very knowledgeable & deliver the information to our guests in a fun & unique way. - Shirley M4 contributionsA lovely trip - very enjoyable. We had a brilliant time doing the tour and tasting. The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. It was unusual to sample beers, wines and liqueurs. The bed and breakfast on site was clean and comfortable and breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. We took up the option to have an evening meal at The Stag, being taken to the pub and returned. This was a splendid idea but we were slightly disappointed with the menu choices and the inflated prices of the drinks. Overall we had a great time and would recommend.Thank you so much for your lovely comment, so nice to hear that you enjoyed the Full 'Luxters' Experience with us, staying with us in the Farmhouse B&B up in the gorgeous Chiltern Hills. He managed to keep the group's attention. We loved the combined information about wine, ales and liqueurs. The tour ended with sampling 12 drinks - 4 of each category, with crackers and cheese also provided. We bought 3 liqueurs and had a really great day. Visited Chiltern Valley Winery with a friend after being bought the tour as a gift. Decided to book one of the rooms offered on the website and their ‘offer’ of dining at a local, pub, The Stag and Hunstsman, with a taxi there and back, to add to the experience.
The tour of the winery was great and our guide, Steve, who was very informative and fun. The breakfast was very nice, prepared and servedj by Maria who was lovely. However the rest of the experience wasn’t so good.
Our room was a little shabby and looks ready for a revamp, especially the bathroom. The shower head was disgusting and there was mould around the outside base of the shower cubicle. The room was cold, even with radiator on, though a small fan heater is available.
We shared the arranged taxi with 2 other guests and on arrival at the pub, shown into a room ‘reserved’ for guests from the winery, along with a set menu, also just for guests. The bill for 2 of us for a 3 course meal and a pint of beer came to £120 the cost of taxi being included, expensive taxi for a 15 minute round trip. With the cost of the room £125 it made for an expensive ‘treat’. We’d been shown a communal longe which had an open fire and had thought we’d end the evening in there having coffee and chatting to the two other guests as they’d been great company. However, the room was very cold and although the fire was obviously usable, there was no wood or anything to make a fire, so we ended up just going to our rooms. Disappointing.
I’d recommend the tour but do some research in Henley on Thames or Marlow for alternative accommodation and cost of taxi hire.

My friend and I were given the wine and brewery trip as a gift and decided to treat ourselves and take advantage of the bed, breakfast and evening meal deal we were offered when we booked the visit.
The tour was really informative and fun ,due to the expert knowledge imparted to us by Steve, the guide.
Our accommodation was shabby, there was black mould in the en suite and the shower head was filthy. The bedroom was cold and the electric heater worked intermittently. The downstairs shared lounge was cold, with no wood or coal provided to light the fire.
The hotel booked us and another 2 guests a taxi to take us for dinner at the Stag and Huntsman for our evening meal .we were taken into a room which were were told was only for" winery guests"and presented with our"special menu"which had no prices on it!! we had thought that we would be able to choose from the pub menu or the set menu ,but we couldn't!
The meal cost us £120 for the two of us for 3 courses and a pint of local beer each ..which did include a shared 3 mile taxi trip to and from the pub.
With the room costing £120 ,we had been spent £245 for our stay.

The tour was enjoyable and informative with a quite comprehensive tasting session. We stayed in the very nice B&B on site to avoid drinking and driving, But we made the mistake of booking the dinner + taxi deal to the Stag and Huntsman. The taxi was small with six passengers with the two of us cramped onto jockey seats in the boot. There is separate menu for the Chiltern Valley guests with the only supplementary charge stated for cheese instead of desert (ie: no option to choose anything cheaper) which was £40 for 2 courses or £45 for 3 courses. The food was OK pub grub but not worth the price given that the taxi cost was spread over 10 guests, paying at least £40 each + drink, on that evening. My wife ordered soup and flat iron steak ( a relatively inexpensive cut of steak) with a red wine sauce. When the bill arrived it included an “optional” 12.5% service charge, which requires an embarrassing conversation to remove, a £5 supplement for the steak and a £3 supplement for the red wine sauce, neither of which appeared on the menu….so my wife was expected to pay £48 for a bowl of soup and a very average steak and chips, all with a 12.5% service charge, taking it to £54!! When challenged on the supplements, a staff member blamed the Vineyard for not giving us their menu details. This pub, in my view and in that of other guests on the night, is exploiting the guests of the very excellent Chiltern Valley Vineyard and I recommend that you book your own taxi, and choose an alternative dinner venue to the Stag and Huntsman, if you make the very excellent tour.

Second visit to this great little brewery in the middle of no where. Was as good as last year. Went with a friend who is familiar with wine making like myself. A thoroughly great way to spend time not in a pub.
The tour was well organised. Purchased apricot liqueur and other locally made products. This will be an annual event to go now. Just get your friend to drive so you can enjoy all samples of the wine, liqueur and beer.

I was gifted the wine tasting voucher for two people.
It was limited session slots, and had to book well in advance.
It is a beautiful location within the barn where you can hire out for a wedding. We sis look at the venue for wedding some months earlier.
We had a helpful tour of the vineyard on the Sunday as Saturday slots were unavailable for the rest of the year!
We had cheese and can choose as a group what to taste.
I recommend the experience.

Came here for my birthday on 26/9/23
What a little gem of a place ! It’s a small brewery and winery set in the beautiful countryside. Very easy to find lots of signage, decent car park just across the road, and very friendly staff. We chose to stay overnight amd had the garden room. Was lovely overlooking the vineyards and garden. Very spacious, and had a nice en suite.
The tour was brilliant from seeing amd sampling the grapes to bottling and also the different stages of brewing as well. Steve was very good and answered all the questions.
The best but was the tasting though! There was a sheet to make a note of any you liked and you could purchase in the shop. You can also order online. There’s no dinner option on site but there’s a wonderful pub down the road and if you stay, chiltern give you a complimentary taxi there and back which I thought was very good!
Breakfast was scrumptious! there are a few options and we went for a full English. Tasted delicious! All in all we had a wonderful time! No one could do enough for you and was so friendly! A lovely place I would visit again in a beautiful area of the country.

I had a Christmas gift of a vineyard and brewery tour with tastings. I decided to book it for the August Bank Holiday.
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and the tour itself was infomative. The group we were in was only 10 people which was a good size. We enjoyed the company of the other group members. Tastings are very generous with 2 still wines, 2 sparkling, 3 beers and 3 liqueurs. We also found the shop to be reasonably priced for the amount of work that goes into the products - tour guests also get a 10% discount.
On this occasion we were unable to use the bar facility due to a wedding being held that weekend but it's certainly something we would do another time.
If you are driving, it's worth noting that you will be sampling quite a bit of alcohol as part of the experience so it's wise to wait a while before driving back. We travelled by taxi from nearby Ibstone and the cost was very high for only 4 miles. Another tour guest mentioned that they managed to book an Uber which was much cheaper. If you are are staying at the Frog in Skirmett it's only a 20 min walk to the vineyard

Same answer. As it is October after the summer busy period, I think they might.

Would probably say no
It’s a working brewery that relies on sterile conditions, I’m a dog owner and wouldn’t take mine

Is there a way to arrive by train? We would love to go but are not renting a car while in the country. Thanks!

You would definitely need a taxi from the nearest station as the tour is in the middle of nowhere... the staff are so lovely and helpful, if you contact them they will be able to advise you!

Can't recommend alternative accommodation, sorry, as we stayed at The B & B on site. However, they have an arrangement with Henley Taxis and the fare to/from Henley is £12 each way (6.5 miles each way)
Hope this helps
