The house is not large and with the upstairs and downstairs done, no more than 40 minutes. The walled gardens have interesting plantings, including a wisteria over 100 years old! Walks in the wood with busy kites flying over the copse
Overall a worthwhile visit to both house and garden that was home to a major industrialist from the past. Location is also a plus with wonderful scenery.
Only disappointment is that cafe is using plastic disposable cups in the cafe for water.

Our visit was delightful, the property is charming and there is great attention to detail. The lady who did the tour of the property was informative and delightful including everyone, even the children in the information/discussion.
The grounds are beautiful and facilities excellent. Highly recommend.
Visited cowshed cafe today would advise not to go, service very slow and choice of food very limited no sandwiches available only soup, lasagne, jackets & Chinese pork, staff very slow to serve. We had soup that you got 30 mins before other food jacket...More
