It's free admission. If you like archeology and artifacts, definitely worth a visit. Depending on how passionate you are, average time spent there would be 1 - 2 hours to go thorough the exhibitions.

Raphael special exhibit well worth it. The Permanent collections have something for everyone. Historic museum that is s must-see in Oxford.

The Ashmolean has an incredible collection of artworks from all over the world. We enjoyed the many paintings, sculptures and various collections. You need plenty of time to enjoy your visit and appreciate the variety on display. We'll be back

I adore this place, it's my favourite museum in the world! So much there and so much to see. Fantastic history, so much to learn. I think everybody should visit here. I always come here when in Oxford! I love it!

If you come to Oxford and miss Ashmolean, then you've really missed the point of coming altogether!! Wonderful galleries, thoughtful staff... do visit!!!

5 stars. The best museum in Oxford. Great if you have an interest in Ancient Greece and Ancient Egypt.

A large museum with many artefacts. Top 10 areas to visit. Need to return as did not manage to see enough. Free entry although a £5 donation is suggested. There are also set exhibitions that require a ticket to be bought.

Not absolutely sure of opening times - but the usual sort of times I think? Open all year - but one floor was closed when we were there. I'm sure that there is a website.

Just noticed your question; have you travelled to Oxford yet? If not, the Randolph Hotel opposite the museum would be the obvious place to stay and central to the rest of the city and university areas (which overlap). The... More
