I used to go to the Half Moon a few years ago, but stopped for a while. Recently came back as it has been regaining its former buzzing atmosphere of community and live music. This isn’t a slick, generic bar – it’s so much better!...More

With its excellent selection of music nights (from hearty, Irish singalong stuff to relaxed jazz) this pub has become a favourite of mine in Oxford. Its cosiness can make for a relaxed evening pint or, when the punters turn out for the folk nights, a...More

The previous management ran the place into the ground and the place filled up with drug dealers and associated gangsters so we had high hopes of improvement with the new management. The dealers are still there, though. We'll go elsewhere in future.

It is open late, it sells beer, it often has seats, and it doesn't have loud music. All the negative reviews seem to be after something else. I hope they find it.

Visited last Sunday with visiting family . The Irish folk night was in full swing although given the noise of the audience it was sometime difficult to hear the musicians . Great craic and late night drinking establishment .

Visited this pub on a Sunday evening with friends. There was live music which made for a cosy atmosphere. The staff were friendly and the pub was busy. Seen it’s under new management so would be interested where they take it. Would recommend popping by...More

It's terrible to see how much this pub has changed. A once lively spot now has no atmosphere and has been stripped of its character. The beer was flat and there was no toilet seat in the ladies'. It's not that hard to run a...More
