About
One of the most famous little shops in the world can be found in Oxford just across the road from Christ Church College. The Alice’s Shop in Oxford is world famous because the shop itself was written into the Alice adventures over 150 years ago. The small shop was dubbed “Alice’s Shop” locally as soon as the stories became well known, even as it continued as a grocery and sweet shop. Since the mid-60s, the shop began to sell Alice in Wonderland souvenirs. The Shop is now a treasure trove of Alice in Wonderland themed gifts, souvenirs and memorabilia. Alice’s Shop is one of the most tangible links to an entire episode in the Alice in Wonderland adventures and offers lovers of the stories a moment of intimate connection with the World of Alice as well as an insight into Carroll’s creation.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our (24 year old) daughter is an Alice fanatic and this was a must on our visit to Oxford.

It had an amazing range of Alice related gifts, and we could have spent all day choosing for her. Well worth a visit, and just across from Christchurch College where Alice met Lewis Carroll.

It is small, which is part of the charm, and patience is needed when it's busy but that shouldn't be a problem for most.

Lots of history connected with this little shop. It is totally jam-packed full of "Alice" goodies, and the original illustrations, not the Disney. They really need a second floor or an added-on room because it's VERY snug and it can be difficult to actually get a good look at some of the goodies because you have no room to bend over if there are lots of customers. Most of what they sell is good quality and all of it is interesting if you're a fan of "Alice". Personally, I was in hog-heaven...got earrings, a tote bag, 2 tea towels, some postcards, a tea bag plate, and a tiny box of mints. Oxford is a nice place to visit also, people very friendly.

This is a wonderful store with a selection of Alice in Wonderland books and memorabilia. The owner of the store gave us a map and wrote in ink the places we wanted to visit on our day trip in Oxford. He also has a very friendly border collie. All in all a great experience!
