Informative walking tour. Matthew (our guide) had a good working knowledge of Oxford and led the tour at a comfortable pace. Would have liked to see more colleges but this was the "free" tour. Expect to make a donation at the end of the walk. Worth considering if you want a walking tour.

Our guide, Mathew was both entertaining and had a deep knowledge of the history of Oxford. You are taken to places that you would never find yourself. Highly recommend.

Very good walking tour, made better by the entertaining guide. He was very informative and added colourful anecdotes during the tour. It might not be the two hours but very enjoyable.

Every Time we stopped somewhere, I could see other tour guides pouring their hearts out. I was 15 min late arriving and as a result expected 1 hr 45 min instead of 2 hrs, fair enough. He insisting on finishing 20 minutes early and just pointed to the next point of interest and told me to go see it alone!... More

We recently joined this walking tour after being approached by Matthew who explained how it worked. Basically you join a small group for a 2 hour guided walk through the University area and at the end you pay what you think it is worth. Our group numbered 11 and we were educated and entertained by Matthew as he explained history,... More

The other reviews effectively cover the interest and content of this walk. I want to highlight that it is legitimate and well worth whatever you can afford to tip. We were on a short break from London and rather daunted by the large 'official tour' but when we were approached with an offer of a free tour we were sceptical.... More

We really enjoyed this free Oxford walking tour. Our guide was very live and funny guy who made this tour a fun and enjoyable. It was two hour tour and I really admit that without this our visit to oxford might be boring.

Some friends and I had decided to have a day out in Oxford and went on this tour on the spur of the moment. It was well worth it. We could have wandered around, but having a guide gave us a great overview of some of the main sites and entry into some of the colleges. The extra stories and... More

My wife and I enjoyed this tour, seeing and learning about the University, Colleges, Oxford, and some of the political, literary, and film history. We had done the free walking tour in Bath by the Mayor of Bath's Guides, which was absolutely fantastic. We decided that doing the walking tours was the best way to learn interesting bits about a...
