We did a 90 min walking tour of the Oxford colleges with the very knowledgeable Peter D. A wonderful experience. Peter showed us all the famous sights as well as taking us off the beaten track as he explained the rich history of the City. History came alive today. I highly recommend City Sightseeing Oxford and, if you're able, do request a tour by Peter!

Lesley, our guide, was extremely welcoming and helpful on my arrival at the Carfax tower. I had paid on line but not given a specific time. I was lucky and joined a walking tour straight away. Lesley was very friendly and knowledgeable. She guided our small group through the very busy town, giving us historical context to the famous places and stories of characters who lived in the city. A very enjoyable and informative tour.

Vox walking tour .
We did the 1 1/2 hour walking tour with Jeremy. He was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and amusing. We learned a great deal about the university and the city and he had some memorable anecdotes about past and present politicians.

The walking tour as part of the bronze ticket on the hop on hop off bus was great. Policeman Pete did an amazing job, giving us 45 minutes of interesting information while keeping us in the shade on a very hot day. The Turf Tavern was a great tip

We initially enjoyed the very informative City Sightseeing Hop on - Hop off bus tour with audio commentary which was, in itself, very interesting. Also included in the price of our ticket however, was a walking tour which we did after the bus tour, and this was absolutely superb! Our guide, Chris Cochran was extremely knowledgeable and very charismatic. The walking tour took us to sights which could not be appreciated from the bus tour alone, and during the walk, Chris shared his vast knowledge and regaled us with a wealth of information about the city of Oxford, its history, buildings and inhabitants and included many fascinating facts and anecdotes. I would highly recommend doing the tour, and would like to thank Chris for being such an excellent guide.

Having studied a brochure in our hotel, we decided that we would enjoy a bus tour and walking tour so decided to buy Silver tickets. Arriving at the bus station in time for the first bus we watched as the lad opened up. Then play with his phone until we interrupted him to ask about the timing of walking tours and about ‘live guided’ buses. He didn’t know about guided buses. We bought tickets and got to the bus. We asked the driver about which buses had live guides - and he didn’t know. We enjoyed a complete tour , but with recorded commentary. Then we took another bus to get off to catch walking tour from Carfax tower. Hooray! We had Greg as a guide!!! Terrific his insight and personal touches so enhanced our enjoyment. It was a shame we had to get off ! We got toCarfax Tower - only to discover that the bus station lad had given us wrong information about times So we missed the tour - we had paid for!!!
If times are not as advertised, at least your staff could highlight this!!! Guided tours are sooooo much better than recorded

Thank you for the review. I am happy to hear of your experience with our guide Greg - he is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Oxford, a fantastic asset to tourism in Oxford.
I am sorry, though, to read of your experience with the ticket seller where they were on their phone and the misinformation regarding the opening hours for Carfax Tower. At City Sightseeing Oxford, we strive to deliver the best possible experiences to all of our visitors to Oxford to ensure they have an experience worth remembering. We just did the walking tour as a bus tour around a walkable city seems unnecessary. Chris, our guide for the walking tour was excellent. He has a wealth of information to give out and took us around all of the important parts of Oxford.

We did a 90 minute walking tour with Lesley and she was absolutely wonderful! She told us so many interesting and amusing facts about Oxford we had no idea about. She told us dates, names and stories and suggested the best places to visit after the tour had finished. Lesley was very knowledgeable, could answer any questions that we had and was very entertaining. It was so much fun and the time went really quickly. A thoroughly enjoyable tour that I would recommend to anyone visiting Oxford.

Thank you loupez524 for this lovely review. The Town and Gown tour is one of our many walking tours so I highly encourage you on your next visit to try these. Lesley is a wonderful guide and I am glad that Lesley was able to make it more personal to you by recommending locations and answering anything you may have wanted to know. Although the tour is 90-minutes long, as you say it went by very quickly - time flies when you are having fun indeed. I will pass your wonderful comments to Lesley's manager for their recognition.

Chris was en an excellent guide who showed us so many interesting things in the city and could explain so much more than we expected. Although it was raining, we enjoyed the tour very much.

I contacted city sight seeing Oxford about donating a prize for a charity bingo on 23rd September 2023 to raise funds for Riding for the disabled Abingdon. They were ever so helpful and gave us a lovely prize which will will put on our raffle. Thankyou so much for supporting out event. Such a lovely company and they responded very quick to me. I highly recommend them.
