I spent 14 days in Oxford and this day was my favorite. Paul and Simon led our small group and made us all comfortable immediately and friends by the end. It started out with scenic English countryside and ended on the Thames with crew teams practicing next to you. You paddle by some beautiful and historic buildings and colleges. We were lucky enough to have the bells of Magdalen College play while we were paddling by. Truly a must-do on a visit to Oxford.

This was an enchanting experience. For less than the cost of a few hours rental of one of those extremely awkward punts, you spend four hours paddling along peacefully through nature and then through the colleges of Oxford, and out into the Thames. Paul and his team took great care of us, explaining everything clearly and with good humor, while also giving us all the chance just to enjoy drifting through bird-sung nature. The trip wasn't strenuous (I'm in my mid-60s), but was fulfilling; and was very safe, while still feeling like an adventure. You'll see an Oxford that 99% of tourists miss.

We live in Oxford and wanted to do something as a family on a summer weekend. This was a great way to spend the day for us and our two boys, aged 14 and 12. There were 3 families in the group and a couple. Paul exudes calmness and competence. He gives clear advice, and makes sure everyone has a great time, and is safe. His team are helpful and friendly. We used a "two seater" for me and our youngest: everyone else went in single seaters. Although it was a Bank Holiday, for most of the trip we had the rivers to ourselves. A great day and a great way to see Oxford.

Not exaggerating! I've live in Oxford for 5 months now, and going on this tour was one of the best things I have done here so far. Paul is a very friendly, humorous guy who takes his tour seriously and is determined to make the best of your day. We were with a group of 6 participants and he, Nancy and Tony took their time to explain to us how the kayaks worked, how to paddle correctly, and of course, how to be safe on the water. They even provided us with waterproof jackets! The route takes you from the north of Oxford down the river Cherwell, where you'll come by the Victoria Arms pub, the University Parks, Magdalen college, Christ Church meadow, and along the Thames. Some of these places I have been to, but going there by kayak made you look at them in a different way and Paul showed us all the beautiful spots! Lastly, Tony offered to take our bikes with him to the end point of the tour, so that we wouldn't need to go back all the way up to Cutteslow Park (even though they provide transport back), which was very helpful.
In short: Before this I never had any kayaking experience but Paul gave a great introduction and made you feel confident. The tour was absolutely perfect! Got to see stunning views of Oxford and the duration was ideal. Paul (and colleagues) is great guide, good company and very helpful. You'll get your money's worth, and more! Would do this tour again anytime, absolutely.

I can't recommend this trip highly enough. The trip starts on a quiet stretch where you can get your kayaking mojo before heading through the centre of Oxford getting a different view of the city and glimpse some of the colleges as you paddle by. Watch out for drunken punters!! You end on the Thames, which is busy but still really enjoyable. I hadn't tried kayaking before but really enjoyed it - relaxing and not too challenging - you go with the river flow the whole way.
What really made it so enjoyable was the calm, expert help from Paul on the river, backed up by his roadie Tony! Paul was just great as a kayaking buddy, tour guide, and defender (from the drunken punters). I did the trip with my 11 year old son who loved the trip - towards the end he flagged a little but kept going - 6 miles all together. We were fortunate to have perfect weather, but I really think that this is a great choice for all but the worst weathers. Thanks so much!

This is a beautiful, peaceful way to see a different side of Oxford. First we travelled along the green backwaters of the River Cherwell and then we experienced kayaking on the much wider River Thames. The tour was suitable for novice kayakers. Our guides, Paul and Nancy, were both excellent. A great day out and good value, as kit is provided.

Paul set out this guided tour even if we were just two and there were no regrets for trying out this experience. Three hours of exclusive sights of Oxford, including petit cinematic side 'canals' with unique views of Oxford. Paul was flexible, responsible and friendly throughout the whole trip. Best thing we did in the whole Oxford stay. Thanks again Paul!

It was a really nice experience, both physically and aesthetically. I've never done kayaking before and was feeling a bit uneasy at the start. But, Paul gave us clear instructions and we were closely supervised all thev way along, which helped to build up confidence, and, at the end, I was feeling like a professional kayaker. We all had a great time and would highly recommend to have a day off with Oxford Kayak Tours.

A great afternoon spent with Paul and friends on the River Cherwell and Thames. Paul is a brilliant instructor and made everyone feel safe and competent on the water. The trip was varied starting in less seen parts of the River Cherwell right through to busier parts around Magdalen Bridge and then onto the Thames. It was a fantastic experience and Paul even made a video for us to remember it by! We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly, highly recommend Paul's kayak tour!!

Hands down one of the best things I have done during my stay in Oxford. Paul is a great guide and teacher and exploring this area from the water is just the best way - and it's relaxing to boot. Got all gear, instructions and reassurance necessary and then had whale of a time exploring the beautiful Cherwell River all the way down to the Thames. Cannot recommend this highly enough!

I'm having some trouble getting on the website, can anyone give me a rough idea how much the tour costs please? Thanks!
