About
Oxford Time Tours are an innovative, family-friendly approach to the traditional walking tour. As well as seeing some of Oxford's most beautiful and historical sites, your 'time traveller' guide will take you through Oxford's history chronologically, from its Saxon origins right up to the present day, occasionally telling stories of his trips to the past. There is a spotting list for younger children.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had a great time on the tour with Peter. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. It was easy to book online and easy to find him at the meetup spot. I was traveling alone visiting Oxford and the walking tour was the perfect thing to learn some history and local culture and also to interact with some other people including Peter who is a local. Despite being advertised as child friendly I still enjoyed it very much as an adult. I would recommend it. Thanks Peter.

Peter was such a great guide and I would strongly recommend taking his tour! My two daughters (11 and 14) and I were fortunate to have him as our private guide, and we very quickly developed a rapport with him. I found him genuine, friendly and a joy to spend time with. My girls particularly liked his cat vest. Quite miraculously he was somehow able to fulfill my desire to learn more about Oxford’s history, while keeping them engaged too. He provided a “spot it” game that was totally age appropriate and they had a lot of fun trying to find everything. The time flew by! We parted with large smiles on our faces! I would not hesitate to take another tour with him.

We had a fun time. I booked as a local with two children aged 6 and 8. We all learned something about our town and saw some new things.

The guide is funny, knowledgable and adaptable. He got the children onside. The spotting trail was good. When I asked, he was able to shoehorn in some links to the 6-yr-old's school history topic. And he was great with our 8-yr-old (who thinks of himself as a history expert and likes to talk!)

Peter was a fantastic tour guide. His obvious knowledge of Oxford’s history was fascinating and easy to understand. He was pleasant and very cheerful. He was very careful to keep our tour within our necessary time constraints. We highly recommend his tour!

Very happy with the tour overall and Peter was great with the kids. They enjoyed the spotting list and Peter's delivery was great, catering for the younger kids. The only drawback was that due to COVID all the colleges were closed to visitors so we couldn't do a complete tour, but still paid full price anyway.

Hi Stoil, glad you enjoyed the tour. I always offer an alternative of either a walk round Christ Church meadow or a visit to one of the colleges (if possible), and vary the length of the tour to each family's needs. Best wishes, Peter
