Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I took my daughter to an open day at the University and spent the day walking around the campus. This was my old Alma Mater and I had forgotten how wonderful the campus is with its magnificent trees, lake, green spaces and the Harris Garden. I don’t remember visiting this when I was a student there over 30 years ago but what a wonderful garden with some magnificent and surprising plants, some of which are seldom seen and superb specimens. There was so much colour and it was a joy to see the meadow areas buzzing with insects. I hope she chooses Reading so I have an excuse to go back.

Early spring sun and warmth making some spring flowers come early. Lots of little surprises. Good Place for a peaceful wander or sit and read.

Nov 1st not the best time to visit this garden but there was still a lot to see - trees being especially lovely.
What a quiet place to find. I'm sure that Spring will be fab in this amazing garden.
This garden has been developed since my husband and i were at Reading in the 60's. What a find.

We regularly pop in here as part of our walk into Reading, it's within the University ground but open all year around.
Visiting in early autumn was a good time as there were still plenty of flowers in the borders in bloom but then the leaves were also starting to turn colour.
Will be back again for sure.

The university grounds are an oasis of green in Reading and are well worth exploring. I thought that the Harris Garden was veyr fine. I had visited it in the spring when it really looks delightful with all the bulbs and blossom. It was equally lovely when I went there again today. The herbaceous gardens are very fine.

We were fortunate to visit the gardens on a beautiful sunny day. It's a glorious find and I'll definitely be going back.

It is so easy to live in a town or a city and walk around and not alway see what is there. Hidden away inside reading university is a gem of a garden, the kind of design and attention that you would expect from a national trust garden. It is not open all the year, and requires you to cut through reading university which in its own right is worth doing if you haven't before.
As it is run by volunteers, there are always cheep plants for sale.
A quick check of google will tell you when it's open, so if you are looking for something a little different, find yourself passing by, and it's open well worth a visit.
