- JonofromcasCastleford, United Kingdom1,431 contributionsPaul Heaton. Great concertWent to see Paul Heaton and Jackie Abbott, which turned out as expected to be just Paul. Didn’t park in car park as knew it is slow to exit from past visits. Easy access into arena, good seats, not comfy but they never were. Concert brilliant. Missed Jackie but Paul and the bqnd were on top form. Easy exit and easy drive away. Within 10 minutes, we’d walked out, got into car and were driving away towards Meadowhall.Visited December 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 3 January 2023
- Iain AKirkcaldy, United Kingdom642 contributionsGood sight linesFirst visit in a long time and the outside of the building is starting to look tired. Security at entrance was effective and reasonable for a hockey match. Good signage for seating and lots of food and drink outlets in the concourse but concourses became clogged with people waiting to be served. Our seats gave good views of most of the ice surface, but the sound system wasn’t clear enough hear all announcements. Game started late due to unnecessary pre game buildup. Seats were comfortable and after the game, the arena cleared quickly as did the car park. The arena was devoid of atmosphere with the regular patrons seemingly waiting to be told when to clap and react for about 95% of the game.Thank you for your feedback! We were seated straight away and the system explained to us. Our waitress Jess was fantastic and the food was quick, hot and tasty. - Stuart KempTenerife, Spain29 contributionsEntertaining Andre Rieu concert.A first time concert of Andre Rieu for us. Very enjoyable and entertaining but would not repeat. The orchestra was OK and very enthusiastic, but not a great orchestra like the Halle etc. They were a little loose at times and thought the American soprano was a little flat during her solo. If you want to be entertained and relax listening to light music then this is for you.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 14 May 2023
- Paul175TSelby, United Kingdom2,668 contributionsPULP concert! 😀Parking in the area is very limited, we were eating in Bella Italia nearby prior to the concert and even getting parked there was a challenge. We were ushered into a door which was quite a way off where our seats were and as it was so busy inside it was a challenge to get to our seats. Once seated all was good. The view, the sound and the atmosphere all delivered. We got out quick enough and were soon back on the motorway home. Security staff could have been better but overall a good experience.Visited July 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 July 2023

We booked a disabled parking bay so it made things a lot easier when we got there. Staff were very helpful giving directions on where to park and queue. Check you go through the correct doors for seating upstairs though as many people had to move as they were in the wrong seats. A great venue though we will go backVisited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 November 2023

The parking situation here was so effective, far better than the organisation at Coventry, for example. For standing, there was an effective queue to get into the building but then all Hell broke loose inside and things got a bit crowded and overwhelming. The prices for drinks and food was really reasonable, compared to, for example, LEEDS FIRST DIRECT. We were near the front and had a choice of toilets, drink stands, merch stalls and the sound and production was excellent.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 November 2023

On the morning of Disney ice Show December 3rd we were unable to get to 10 30 performances due to bad snow, even though still sell tickets for 2 30 performance which we could have probably got too no offer was to transfer, refund or even a voucher for next show. How do you expect people to travel in bad weather putting yourself in dangerjust because you decided to clear the car parks. Tickets were expensive, sure must be few more people that morning in same position BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

What. A. Shambles.
MrsC and I were here to see Peter Kay amongst the thronging thousands and the experience was sullied by the woeful organisation , direction and process.
The signposting for the entrances was rubbish; we questioned one steward. standing by a sign suggesting we enter up a set of stairs - the same message seen by 8 people in front of us and 4 behind - only to find ourselves at the Arena Club entrance.
The steward manning that entrance then sent us all to the snaking queue at the bottom of those stairs.
Turned out, after 30 mins+ of stuttering progress, that we’d been sent to the wrong queue again as our ticketing package was at the opposite end we’d been sent to.
Fortunately, in a sense, we’d arrived, by foot, at 6:20 for an 8:00pm concert start.
Despite this we could hear a senior steward panicking over the radio that they were unlikely to get everyone in on time.
How prescient.
We trudged our way past burgeoning bar queues to get to the other side of the venue, our ticket package and seats.
By the time we parked our derrière it was just gone 7:20 ( an hour elapsed from arrival).
The first thing that struck you was how, with 40 mins to go, empty it looked. Rows and rows of unoccupied seats; which didn’t make sense with the volume of tickets sold.
Visible from our seats was a downstairs bar area; absolutely heaving from the point we sat until 8:10.
Accepting it’s an ice hockey venue it was bloody cold for a closed roof venue to boot.
Why they didn’t close the bar areas at 7.45 was a mystery. Presume they wanted to milk as much money at the expense of a prompt start for the show.
As expected the start was delayed and even then there were still the unfortunate few picked on for further late arrival.
Suffice to say, regardless of the performance, we won’t be buying tickets and sloughing up the M1 to Sheffield, and the Utilita, anytime soon.
Shocker.

Going to see Peter Kay on Fri 17th November. What a badly organized event. Inside the arena is ok and the show was great. Outside while miles of queuing for thousands of people was disgusting . No member of staff was any use and appeared not to get involved in any aspect of crowd control at all . Crowds on high steps all bustling around with newcomers trying to enter the queue and staff just standing about. The show had to be put back due to the disorganization and lack of any kind of forethought on the part of the organizers of the event. It was only due to the genial nature of Peter Kays fans that a serious incident was avoided. Will not go here again.

We went to see Peter Kay on Nov 17th. The only words I can describe this experience are organised chaos. We got to the arena at 7pm (plenty of time for an 8pm start you would think?) The queues to get in were horrendous!!!! Only a few doors open, very few staff checking bags, very few staff checking tickets at the doors. Massive queues at the bars (I had a small bottle of water taken off me, didn't have time to queue at the bar, so no fluids available to me).
Huge toilet queues, finally got to our seats at 7.50pm. it really shouldn't take 50 minutes to get in the door. The start was delayed by 15 minutes to accommodate those still trying to get in. When he finally got on stage, there were still lots of people coming into the arena.
Peter Kay was amazing as always, the arena was terrible. I've been going to Sheffield Arena since it opened in the 90's, to many sell out shows, it's never been this badly organised. Sort this out management, otherwise people just might start travelling that bit further to Leeds and Nottingham.

Long queues across concourse so you can’t move around easily. Dangerous from a public safety perspective. Rubbish signposting outside. Would rather travel further than attend a gig here in future.

1 hour queue to get in to Peter Kay, Less than half the doors were open, it just seemed like chaos, clearly not arranging enough staff to cope on sell out dates.
Getting out after the show was just as chaotic as the steps were all tapes off so we couldn't use them, until one staff member came flying round ripping it all off to get rid of the bottleneck created. Think you need to reconsider the management of these very busy events. Will drive to Leeds in future and give this place a swerve.

It should be illegal to not allow you to bring in a simple drink of water. Ok, only allow empty bottles, then have water fountains inside. But no, they charge TWO POUNDS FIFTY for water - that's dearer than a carton of orange juice! All that, and charging FOURTEEN POUNDS to park. They should wear masks, damn robbery, and all of it legal 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Does the Sheffield interchange have time limits on their car parking for us to catch the tram up to the arena please ?
We are going to Paul Heaton next week and want somewhere to park for the evening.

Disney on Ice - block 117, row K - straight behind the stairwell. Will our view be restricted as it’s the first row behind some stairs/railings and I’m worried they’ll be too high for my 3 year old niece to see properly. Anyone sat there?

What is the view like from Block 202 in the Sheffield Utilita Arena? i think were row H ?
Is it possible to leave the arena to smoke half way through the show?

I don't smoke so I haven't had to ask, however there's signs outside the entrance doors implying that you can't leave once you've entered until the show is finished. However, the ice hockey does have several breaks and so presumably they'd let you leave during this time if you could present your ticket once you go back in.

PARKING?
Hi coming here for the first time on the 10th of Nov, since it's my first visit i was wondering what is parking like in the area or parking near by? Also what is the price for parking like?
Any feedback will be appreciated thank you
Amy S
56 contributions
For ice hockey, you can book in advance and it costs £5 or you can pay on the day for £7. There's also parking opposite that's a similar price.
There's fast food outlets near so potentially you could park in their car parks, but not sure what their rules are on parking.
