With a cafe in a log cabin and a natural bluebell wood 15 minutes from the buzz of Sheffield's Abbeydale Road, city centre, what's not to love about Eccleshall Woods?! Lots of circular trails for all levels of fitness, lots of muddy dogs, babbling brooks and bird song. Perfect Sunday walk.

Love this place. We take the dog for a walk here regularly and stop for a drink and snack. They have regular craft classes which are very good and you get to keep what you make. It's lovely to walk around all year round

Lovely woods! Very nice indeed! Love the cafe and the staff too! Wish the weather was nicer but there is nothing we can do about that.

Visited recently with 2 young grandchildren. We had a lovely afternoon making dens and collecting acorns & chestnuts - nice hot drinks and toasted sandwiches from the cafe to finish off a lovely few hours.

We often come walking around here with our dog. Beautiful all year round. My favourite time though is Autumn.

Love walking in these woods at any time of year. The paths are well marked. It can be busy at weekends with dog walkers but it's a beautiful place.

Waking up at 6am isn't often a pleasureable experience but when you are greeted by the cool morning air, the sound of water flowing near by and stunning scenes it soon becomes one. Both of the mornings started with a 1hr 30min circuit of these woods. You could really appreciate some of the history of Sheffield with some old mills... More

I love this area and happily travel 40 mins here to walk the dogs. It's sheep free so the dogs can be off lead and not get into any trouble. Ive been in all weathers and it remains a delight to walk around.

The woods are lovely all year round but especially in the spring when the blubells are in flower. The Woodland Discovery Centre is well worth a visit and has a cafe, woodland workshops and all sorts of family activities going on.

I had the pleasure of a walk through Ecclesall Woods Nature Reserve today. Despite recent rains paths were relatively firm and the weather was kind to us. It was well signposted though I have to say some mountain bikers were under the impression that they could cycle on the footpaths. Loved it.
