Millhouses Park is located approximately 3 miles south-west of Sheffield City Centre. Part of the park was gifted by Earl Fitzwilliam & Marquis of Zetland in 1909, with the remainder purchased by Sheffield City Council. Recent improvements include the Splash! project, located on the site of the old swimming pool and lido and reintroduces water play into the park, many years after the lido was closed and filled in. It is an interactive play area designed to be both playful and educational with kit such as an Archimedes screw, hand pumps and see saws that pump water into a large snaking channel, where it can be dammed in several places before being scooped by a water wheel and fed into a recycling tank. The water then feeds the toilets, can be used to water plants and tops up the boating lake. The Fishway project has seen the old paddling pools filled in and converted into natural habitat that will allow fish such as trout to bypass the two weirs on the River Sheaf and move upstream to spawn. The design is very complex and incorporates rock pools, overhangs and resting places and mimics their natural habitat as much as possible. There are several supermarkets close to Millhouses Park. If the sun is shining it is a great place to take a strole and grab a coffee. The park is compact and has a river that is just right for dogs. There is bowls and tennis and a boating lake which is shallow and safe for the kids. The cafe is... More

Go here often, we usually alternate this one with graves park. The park is clean and well maintained. It has tennis courts a basketball court, football area, bowls green, putting green, boating pool, water park, skatepark, nice picnic area's and of course the river ru ning through it. I would give it 5 stars except for two issues. 1. Lack... More

I have been coming to Millhouses park since the 60's. My older sister did her courting here. So did I. It's big, with an outdoor paddling pool and a river perfect for stepping stoning over. Pretty bature walks, lots of grass if tgere's enough for football with j7moers fir goals, shops nearby, cafe, bar, ice cream, and great for cycling.

This park is continually improving and is ideal for young children. We have two, aged 3 and 5 and they love a couple of hours here pretty much any time of year.

I lived nearby and walked my dog in the park several times a day. We both loved the park what with the park itself being so lovely and other dog walkers. But sometimes other people on bikes scooters and other contraptions, kids and adults give no consideration to people with dogs especially old dogs. I can just imagine the shoe... More

Attended Millhouses park, the weather was beautiful, and had a lovely walk around around the park with my husband, the park seemed clean, could see effort had been made to keep the park tidy, but alas there was the inconsiderate dog owners.....We walked up to the boating lake and was sat watching the boats while having an ice-cream, there was... 3 young boys 1 toddler girl and a baby all had great fun. the boys thought the area for bikes and scooters was great fun and the water activity area very interesting. The park was very busy in these areas but there was space for every one. A visit to the cafe was a little chaotic but the person in... More

We went on a sunny day whih always helps! Plenty for the kids to do, paddle boats, playground, water features and plenty of grass to play on. Good cafe too. All was clean, plenty of car parking. A very pleasant way to spend an afternoon
