- Purple HScottish Highlands, United Kingdom59 contributionsBrilliant showWe came to watch "Strictly Ballroom" which was a fantastic production and the content and quality of dance was excellent . Kevin Clifton and Maisie Smith had a brilliant cast around them . The venue of Sheffield City hall provides a good environment with good acoustics and views . We sat in row M and had a clear site of the stage. We travelled by train and had not been to the City Hall before . There is no signage from the station to the prominent venues in Sheffield but there are lots of blue signs indicating g how to get into Derbyshire (Hathersage) by bicycle . I used my phone to direct us which took us a steep hill and the longest way as I found out by returning downhill via Fitzallen square and through the bus station. Please Sheffield , get some good signs installed , most other major cities have these from stations and then at all junctions to ensure you are heading in the right direction.Visited December 2022Written 11 December 2022

So so disappointed in City Hall management of venue during Gabrielle concert. Supporting acts didn't stand a chance. Majority audience so rude, talking, shouting, arriving late, everyone having to constantly stand for the. Majority drank too much, so constantly up and down to bar and toilet through acts. Singing along to Gabrielle and standing from start. Was like being at a karaoke. If they didn't know a song, talking to each other, even swearing shouting out. This as got to stop. Shame on City Hall on allowing this to continue. People pay good money to listen to acts, not squealing drunk people around them.

Great seating and great views provided you don’t sit behind one of the guards on the balcony’s to make sure people don’t fall down the stairs.
James requested that phones were put away to enjoy the concert and the city hall staff did come round asking people to turn their cameras off which meant you only had memories rather than actual recordings of the concert.
Didn’t matter. One of finest concerts I’ve seen. 11/10 if that were possible.

Visited here for a music concert. The staff on duty were great. The main hall is smaller and more intimate than many concert venues but seating is comfortable and the toilets and bar area easily accessible. Very clean throughout.
Definitely a venue I will be checking on for more concerts and entertainment events.

We really enjoyed the show, Jon Richardson was very funny and entertaining, the staff were very helpful and told us where there were additional toilets and bars. The queue for the ladies was virtually non existent and we were served very quickly at the bar too.

WHAT A SHEER DELIGHT
comfortable organised and the show was excellent.
The downside was cost for parking that was as expensive as the tickets so use public transport / park and ride if you can.

Hi,
The closest accessible parking to the City Hall is the bays on Balm Green, they are free to use for the public!
Also, check out this link for more information on where those with a Blue Badge may park: sheffield.gov.uk/bluebadge
We hope this helps!

Hi well I have booked 2 tickets to see the elo experience next October for my partner who is a big elo fan. I have booked the stalls, row bb seats 27 and 28, and was quite pleased with this until I read that standing is allowed at the front of the stage! As my partner is 61 he will want to remain seated, and am now worried he won't be able to see the band! Has anyone seen this act , here before? Do people generally stand for the entire show?

Plus, when we went and people at the front did stand we could still see the stage clearly. I hope you both enjoy.

Hi I am wanting to book to see the elo experience next Oct as a surprise for my partner who is a big elo fan. Although born and bred in Sheffield I have never been to the city hall so have no idea what it is like. Can anyone tell me which seats give a really good view? Many thanks, Tracy.

I agree with the 2 people’s recommendation, the stalls are best seats in the house, I sat in the middle on the front row & I had plenty of leg room to. I hope you Jeff Lynne’s ELO gig !
