Perfect Pies and Puddings
Aug 2020 • Couples
Today we went on the ‘Perfect Pies’ course at Penistone Pies & Puddings which was a lovely experience. From making the pies to our delicious homemade Ploughman’s lunch, we enjoyed every second of it! Jacqui made us feel extremely comfortable and couldn’t have done anymore to make us feel welcome. Beautiful scenery, lovely company and fantastic food! We would recommend to anyone!! Thank you Jacqui for making our anniversary extra special during this currently crazy world, Kim & Dean x

Pork Pies and Pasties
Jul 2020
Had a fantastic day at the pork pie cookery course. Jacqui was so friendly and had thought of everything to make the day enjoyable and to ensure we were comfortable given the social distancing guidelines. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and would definitely recommend to anyone that has never made a pork pie!

Tasty Pies and Pasty Baking in a beautiful location
Jul 2020
What a tonic! After a tough few months adjusting to the "new normal" Jacqui's course was just what I needed. Everything covered from a PPE persective and fabulous teaching and products baked by the end. Not to mention the delicious lunch provided insiring to make more and bake more! Well done for providing a friendly and really usable set of recipies and making it fun as well. Will definitely be back for more

Pork Pie heaven
Jul 2020
This was my first course with Penistone Pies and was bought as a Christmas present for me by my sons. Due to the pandemic / lockdown it was delayed 4 months but the hostess was very good with her communication and in rearranging the dates when the restrictions were lifted. Fantastic present and very good value for money including the venue, tuition, recipes, ingredients, lunch and PPE equipment. This was the first course since lockdown but our hostess went out of her way to keep everyone ‘safe’ and feeling relaxed and comfortable. Great banter within the group and a lovely country style kitchen in a converted barn. We all made 2 pork pies one by hand and the other on a WW1 hand press with an incredible back story (sorry no spoilers). We also made a pasty with beef and vegetable filling that I have just had hot with coleslaw for lunch and I can’t believe I made it, delicious. I would recommend for individuals, couples, groups and team building events, the hostess will cater and adapt the course for your needs, very accommodating. Must mention home made lunch of pork pie, Piccililli, coleslaw, salads, cheeses, bread, ham etc followed by scones, cream and rhubarb and ginger jam then carrot cake a beverages consumed in the packed beamed dining room overlooking the Yorkshire countryside. Can’t praise this venue enough.

What a fantastic setting for the perfect pie course. We made pasties and pork pies. Jacqui & Carol were fabulous teachers and hosts. The morning was rounded off with a lovely lunch of local produce...and of course pork pies! This is a great idea for someone wanting to learn a new skill (me!) either on your own or with friends. Thoroughly recommend!

You won't want to eat shop bought foccacia bread after The Taste of Italy course!.
Feb 2020
A relaxing atmosphere in stunning surroundings the Taste of Italy course with Jacqui & Carole has inspired me to have a go at making my own pasta and bread. The warm foccacia with rosemary I made and I took home was gobbled up by my husband as soon as I got back (before I'd even got chance to taste it myself) and he said it was 'delicious'. . The course is only half a day so perfect if you have a few hours to spare. This was a gift experience from my husband and I am now tempted by the 'Its all in the pastry' course. This weekend I am going to have a bash at making the bread with olives, sundried tomatoes and garlic....and maybe this time I'll get some myself.

Pork pies and more
Dec 2019 • Couples
Absolutely loved the pork pie & chutney course. Jacqui and Carole are brilliant teachers, everything is really hands on and they both are so informative and friendly. The small group meant that you could be more involved and able to get to know the others of the course also. The lunch spread was also amazing, you definitely get your money's worth and we will absolutely be booking on for another course in the near future.

Pork Pie making course
Dec 2019
Just got back from pork pie making course with Jacqui and Carole , what a delightful day , I would thoroughly recommend this course a really good mix of a relaxed enjoyable atmosphere combined with excellent teaching techniques and spot on technical knowledge , exactly what I was looking for . Very good basic principles and lots of tips that can only be given by someone who has years of experience in their subject . Very easy to find as although the setting seems remote in a converted barn on a Yorkshire hillside which itself is a thing of beauty it is an easy drive form the M1. Fabulous lunch very enjoyable experience.
