Weston Park is an award-winning, family-friendly museum where the visitors come first. If visiting with children, simply wind up and release, but there is plenty of treasure here for adults too. Discover the real story of Sheffield, from its geological roots to the people, politics and music that shaped the modern city. Alongside old favourites such as Snowy the Polar Bear and Spike the Woolly Rhino, Weston Park plays host to a series of temporary exhibitions.

A relatively small museum, almost just opposite the Hallamshire and Childrens' Hospitals. Perfect for passing an hour or two, with a range of small exhibits, including a short history of Sheffield and artefacts from ancient britain. Also free entry, with the option to make a donation. Several interactive exhibits for the kids to get involved with, so good for all... More

…. If some of the visitors are there primarily to visit the café. We had made a mid-morning visit to the Hallamshire Hospital and decided to lunch at the café in Weston Park. We last visited the café a couple of years ago, and another visit was long overdue. The café is well positioned within the main building, an excellent... More

Perfect for learning gore about Sheffield as well as a superb nature section. Constantly evolving rooms and experiences mean that every trip contains new things. The cafe is great too, if not a little on the pricey side.

This museum is fabulous, such a great place to visit. We are very lucky to have this museum on our doorstep and often go and have a meander around and sometime pop in to the cafe too for a drink or bite to eat. There are lockers in the lobby for storage, available for £1 (which is refundable). Although the... More

Free to get in, lots of interesting exhibits and displays, plenty of interactive stuff for the kids, and then you can go and have a picnic in the grounds. Lovely!

We do go to this museum at least once a year if not every two, as there is plenty for the kids to do and see, the downsides are that there could be a room that shows something different every so often, as the majority of it does stay the same and can get boring. The cafe is a little... More

A very varied selection of exhibits from animals to fossils to ancient finds to art. There was also a lot of info on the local area. It was well laid out and well looked after.

I visited recently with my brother M and his two year old son R. We followed the advice from the museum's website and parked in the Q Park multi storey car park on Durham Road, which was just round the corner, and great value at £5 all day on a Saturday. It was a cold day so we didn't see... More
