Just over the road from Sheffield train station and very handy for travellers is the Howard. Recently refurbished to a very high standard with a warm welcome and great staff. Good modern pub food and a great selection of beers and cider at a very reasonable price. Well worth a visit

Really nice place for a bite to eat. Lovely interior, modern and clean, and lovely staff too. Food was nice and well priced but portion sizes weren't very big. Aside from this well worth a visit!

This place has had an amazing transformation not just in the decor but the variety of drinks available. Lovely cocktails served by very friendly staff. Decorated beautifully with booths, window tables and then your standing room for groups.

Called in here for a drink prior to going for my train. The pub is 2 minutes from Sheffield Railway Station. There was a good selection of draught beers, bottled beers and spirits. Being midweek it was not too busy, but it seemed a lovely pub.

A quick drink after work, this is my second visit and I find the place very welcoming. Mock Tudor outside, real funky interior. I was served a delicious pint of Hobgoblin by Sarah and subsequently by Rob and decided to see if the food was as enticing. I was not dissapointed! The Hunters Chicken was ample and not hidden by... Very dissapointed that on our way back to the train station at 22:30 on a Thursday night the pub was shut .From now on we'll find another port of call.

Visited The Howard before walking to a concert at the O2 Academy. Was really pleasantly surprised. They had a great selection of beers including Hobgoblin on tap, and the seats were really comfortable. We only planned on staying for a couple before moving on, but ended up having quite a few more. Nice friendly atmosphere and clean toilets. What more... More

Reviewed over 2 years ago and feel the need to again because of recent changes. Gone are the dark and dingy corners and the leaking roof. Very bright, excellently decorated, clean, fresh, warm, comfortable, cosy. What a great change and looks like a different pub ! Needs some new photos posting as looks so much more from outside now but... More

We chose to visit the Howard as it has been newly renovated and wanted to try it out. The pub was warm and welcoming and the atmosphere was vibrant. Prices were reasonable for a town pub. We decided to order six sharing plates rather than full meals (£9 for 3). Unfortunately this is where, for us the pub fell short.... More

Staff good. Drink good but stop serving food well before 8pm which means a good few will move on to somewhere else.
