Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A lovely afternoon out for young families. This was the second time I've visited in the last few months. Loads of miniature trains running. Free entry then tickets are £2 pp per train ride (free under 18 months old) and each ride gets you a few laps round the area. We've been lucky that it's been sunny both times so it's been glorious. There's a cafe and toilets. A picnic area where lots of families hold birthday parties. The car park has been a bit of a nightmare so I've always ended up parking on Abbeydale Rd. The volunteers who run it all are lovely. Can highly recommend.

A superb miniature railway setup. Ground level track sit astride high track and model gauge railway also. Trains everywhere and everyone opeerating it relly nice. Very well controlled as I can imagine it can get busy. Not small so a ride is well worth the charge. A nice parkland with toilets and a cafe.

We took our two kids (1.5 and 3.5) out to the Teddy Bear's Picnic recently. They had an absolutely brilliant time. Rides on the train are £1.50 each but there's no entrance free, so it is a nice affordable day out. The place is immaculately kept by a group of very dedicated people, and the cakes at the little cafe were delicious. My kids have talked about it non stop, they really did have a fantastic time, and it was lovely to go somewhere a bit different.

This place is lovingly run by volunteers and it shows. So much effort and love have gone into the engines, the track and the bridges and signal boxes. The woodland setting is lovely, the prices are more than reasonable and there are two different tracks to try. It can get busy on sunny summer days but is worth a bit of a queue. And you don't have to pay unless you want to ride.

Our grand children of 3 and 4 absolutely loved the Abbeydale Miniature Railway with its ride on steam trains, as well as 2 different railway tracks to ride on, there is a nice picnic area if the weather is good and some train displays. It is always well patronised and they do a lot of good work for local charities. At £1.50 a ride it is really good value.

An Excellent afternoon out for young kids. My 3 year old son loved it! It was a gala day so probably more going on, but at least 5 or more miniture trains to ride on, plus a smaller scale model to look at, free entrance to the site, and only £1.50 per ride which was 3 loops of the area - excellent value. Car park free and very convenient!

Having visited last September and had a lovely time, we decided to call in today and sample the trains (and the refreshments).
We parked at Dore and Totley station, which has plenty of space on a Sunday, and is free too, it is only a very short walk from there.
The cost of a train ride was £1.50 which is excellent value, there were a number of trains running round the circuit to cater for the vast amount of people who were there.
The amount of time and effort put in to this by the volunteers, makes the railway a lovely place to visit. Everyone makes you feel welcome which is wonderful. The refreshments on offer are delicious and reasonably priced. It is only open on certain dates but very popular. We plan to attend another running day later in the year.

Tiny steam railway in the woods, place to picnic and rest and just watch.
Created by rail enthusiasts, and engineers, its is run by the Sheffield and District Society for Model Experimental Engineers.
This attraction is not open every weekend, but with (when we went) Christmas approaching it was open.
Loved the visit and so did the young one with us.
Lots of steam and smoke, what could be better.
