About
The Quarter is on the south-side of the city and a short walk from the centre. It is a vibrant Up & Coming area that has become a real destination in its own right. With 8 antique centres, 50 shops, cafes and bars it well worth a visit. A great place to stroll and as 'Green' a local shopping experience that you can get. Shop for authentic period antiques, affordable traditional furniture, retro collectables, vinyl, vintage clothing, upcycled shabby chic as well as local artwork, handmade crafts, tons of local artisan produce and 'Made In Yorkshire' foods and beers. There are architectural and reclamation yards as well as interior design services and advice. In addition most repair, reclamation, clearance or valuation services can be sourced in the quarter using local specialists. Look out for quarterly Vintage & monthly Community Flea Markets and for other events at some of great local venues to include the iconic 1920's Abbeydale Picture House.

This place is truly a hidden gem within the city of Sheffield there’s lots of cool little quirky shops which sell all sorts of odds and sods. If you’re after something unique then look no further than Sheffield antiques quarter. You literally have no clue what you will come away with but I’m sure whatever you do you’ll love it just the same.

Lots of shops and centres within walking distance of one another. Various interesting stock. For refreshments we recommend the Vintage Cafe on the third floor of Sheffield Antiques Centre which has its own car park

The area is very spread about and parking can be a bit of a problem. Everything is way overpriced and the usual same old same old.

Had a great leaflet detailing this 'special' area of Sheffield...... Wow what a load of rubbish the leaflet was and the so called quarter!!! Drove 60 miles to visit......3 dreadful, run down, dirty antique 'shops'. What an absolutely horrible place. Staffed by people who made 'Arthur Dailey' look honest!!! Sheffield council want shot for promoting this pack of lies .
120 mile round trip and a days leave to visit......please no one else get caught out by this nonsense !!!!!

Went there last Sun.It is spread out and we read that before we went so we were prepared. But it also said open on Sun 10am till 17pm and unfortunately only very few shops were open, that is particularly disappointing it you walk on and on thinking there is bound to be more then you see a center with probably several shops in it but there is a closed gate in front of it. Same with the cafe that was recommended to us, everything closed. Don’t know if it’s the summer gap? ( we arrived after 10am and before 5pm in case you are wondering)

There was a time when London Road was almost all antique shops. That time looks like it is coming back. There are few excellent shops, some that are just glorified junk shops, but at least there is something going on. The antiques quarter movement is an excellent idea, trying to tie all the odd shops together into a cohesive unit. 10/10 for effort. It's a pity some of the antiques would look more at place at jumble sale...

The TV gives a false idea of antiques with such as the Road Show and other Road trip formulae with crusty bow-tied, pince-nez'd tweed wearing old fusties waxing lyrical. Yes they are obviously experts but all most people want to see is a vase bought for 50p from a car boot sale go for thousands.

In reality Joe Public doesn't get to see big buck Louis Quinze or Dali sketches shoved out on the street - rather private viewings in fancy showrooms.

Go to Sheffield for that chance. In the middle of all the junk furniture and memorabilia there may well be gems but the local emporium owners will probably beat you to it. Sheffield has had a renaissance with its shiny steel and glass and young average age University streets but it's here in the Quarter baby boomers will find their Dan Dare Annual or Beatrix Potter cereal bowl. One of those soon to be gone forever fun worlds where corporate UK awaits the chance to bulldoze and exclude.

I'm not sure where to start on this review. We had seen a really clear & informative leaflet about the antique quarter & having visited many antique places over the years thought we'd stop off for a visit. We are not local to Sheffield so looked into the parking situation as it is inaccessible by tram. On the map it says there is a car park on Bedale Road which we found. Once we arrived it became clear this car park was for use by visitors to the local swimming pool. We left the car in this free car park. A few people said it was free but agreed it was for the use of those visiting the pool. We stopped at the 1st antique shop & had a quick look around. An old Victorian house crammed packed full of furniture from floor to ceiling. The chap explained that in order to look around the area we were better to park the car on the roads or in Halfords car park. We decided to move the car from the pool car park as we were concerned about getting a ticket. Then came the problem of finding the other antique shops & somewhere to park. Which was near to impossible. Many cars being parked on a single yellow line half on half off the pavements with other cars packed into all the spaces. We were not about to park in Halfords & leave it there as it's for their customers & could have faced another fine. As we drove around we could see the antique centres but it was so difficult to find somewhere safe & secure to park we gave up & ended up getting a tram into Sheffield centre instead. If you are happy to leave your car squeezed into tight spots, on grass verges or corners of main roads then it's ok? I can see the businesses in the area are trying hard to make a living & feel we could have given them our custom. However I feel the council really need to support these local businesses & invest money into clear signage & decent car parking. The area could be a gem with a bit of TCL. It seemed to have some interesting places to see. Unfortunately not for us this time.

This was my first visit to Sheffield Antiques Quarter. It holds a great choice of antiques and vintage, presented by independent traders in a really interesting and historic part of Sheffield. Edgey, but safe!
The day was sunny. We drank coffee at Rileys, and had a good look around their traders units, and entertainment area, where they hold music events most weekends. Then off to Abbeydale Road, with a selection of traditional antiques dealers, vintage, upcyclers, artisan caterers and other interesting businesses. We found Heeley Bank, The Emporium, Langtons, Sheffield Antiques Centre - all good trade stop-offs and very nearby. But there are more up-cyclers, vintage dealers, reclamation yards and vintage centres around most corners! Well worth spending a day just wandering around, soaking up the atmosphere, stopping for refreshment, and enjoying this historic part of Sheffield.
My visit reminded me of Berlin; Prague; Brick Lane; The Portabelllo Road; West Dublin; or even Silverlake, east LA!
