What a WONDERFUL day out! I've always been apprehensive about painting, due to the usual old 'you're no good at it' school feedback. Diane shows us that painting and drawing are two completely different things, and it's okay to just enjoy the process of painting without thinking of having to 'do well' or 'be good at it.' Painting My Way is a lovely, relaxing experience, led by delightful Diane and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

So glad you enjoyed your painting workshop with me.. everyone had fantastic results ! Its always lovely for me to see everyone gaining their confidence as the workshop progresses! As you saw in class - there is no need to be able to draw in order to be able to paint! That is something that puts off many people even having a go...I'm always being told " but I can't even draw a straight line" my reply is "nor me" as long as you can hold a brush you will be fine! Will look forward to seeing you again sometime! Diane x

I have just done my second painting workshop with Diane and had a great time and produced a lovely painting. Diane is a great teacher and she and her husband are very welcoming. The classes are relaxed and fun and Diane explains everything and is very encouraging.
I would highly recommend trying these workshops. Even if you think you can't paint.......you can! You come away with a lovely painting and a great sense of achievement.

Thanks for your lovely review! As you know we have a lot of fun in the workshops as well as learning how to paint! It is very satisfying to see the paintings progress quite quickly! And yes--even if you think you can't paint you will be very surprised with what you take home! We will look forward to seeing you again x

I attended a workshop organised through a family friend (who has been to several events) and I was quite nervous as I have never painted before and I can't draw! My dad came too and he has painted several pictures but never on canvas. Diane was lovely, taking us through each step and coming round one by one through each part to see how we were getting on and to give support and advice. Whether we were complete beginners or more experienced painters she gave everyone the time and attention they needed. I am so pleased with my finished painting and we all can't wait to do it again! Thank you for a fantastic family day!

Thanks for your lovely review Gemma..I'm so glad you all enjoyed your workshop... You have proved what I always tell future students --"you don't need to be able to draw in order to paint!" It puts many people off thinking they won't be able to do it! But drawing is a different skill to painting and it really does not matter if you can't draw a straight line! Everyone had beautiful paintings at the end of it... I love seeing the smiling faces as everyone adds more and more to their masterpiece. My system of demonstrating just tiny ,tiny chunks of the painting at a time makes it so easy for people to do--and everyone gets their confidence very quickly! We will look forward to seeing you all again in future workshops! Diane xx

I loved my day with painting my way! The day was bought for me by my husband and I've had so many lovely remarks about my finished painting. I have never painted before and even I was surprised by what I had managed to achieve! A must for anyone.

Everything you need is supplied and you get to take home your very own masterpiece, which if like me , you will be shocked how fab it is.

This was a wonderful day with lots of fun and laughter and the joy of taking home a "masterpiece" at the end of the day. The workshop is ideal for beginners like myself or for the more experienced. Diane explains everything in easy steps and is available throughout the day to give help and support. The cost of the workshop is excellent value as everything is provided including constant supplies of tea and biscuits. Even if you have never painted before please do have a go. You will be pleasantly surprised.

Thank you for your lovely review Sylvia..I'm so glad you enjoyed your day painting the ''Birches'' . Its a great confidence builder isn't it? We had a mix of first timers and some who had been several times before though you would never know from the results. The workshops are good value for money--and I have not put up the prices for 12 years now and intend keeping them down for the next year at least. We will look forward to seeing you again xxx

I was given this day as a special treat from my work colleagues.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day and the Artist Di made us all believe in ourselves. Most of us hadn't painted before but all produced a painting to be proud of.

So glad you enjoyed your workshop.. it always amazes me how quickly everyone finds their confidence-even when they have never painted before! Because the workshops are run with tiny steps there is not much chance of going wrong... and I also show you what not to do,, and then show you how to correct it if you do happen to do it.. I think that helps peoples confidence! thank you for your review, Diane x

The artist Diane is very approachable and I thought the banter between her and her husband, who helps set up the equipment, was really endearing. It really is what ever your level of skill, follow her instructions step by step and you come away with a very nice painting you can be proud of. I thought it was a really nice experience although a bit pricey. I think you had to bring your own packed lunch as that is not included. Perfect for family bonding, birthdays or if you want a quiet sophisticated kind of hen party? My friend is going to 3 more classes so all her relatives get to have an original work painted by my friend for xmas.

Thank you for your review Belinda, so glad you enjoyed your day out painting with me.. We have had a few hen party workshops--great fun it was too.. We have a group of ladies coming in Nov for their Christmas 'do' they will be bringing wine with them so it will be a great day--and no nerves from them after a glass or two! re the cost of the workshops... I have not actualy put up the price of the workshops for nearly 12 years--since I started running them in fact! Most of the workshops are £35 which includes all the materials, canvas, brushes, paint, tuition and as much tea, coffee and biscuits that you want! You can bring a packed lunch or order some and Bill collects it from the nearby cafe for you.. A few of the workshops are £40 and £45 due to the fact the canvas are more expensive because they are bigger and also we need to hire the room for longer as they take longer to paint! I will not be increasing my prices in 2016 either as I want Painting My Way to be affordable to as many people as possible... Every year the canvas prices go up at least twice, along with all the other bits and bobs that we have to buy,,,but as I am kept busy with all you lovely students Im happy to swallow up the extra costs myself.. thank you again for your lovely comments-- hope to see you again sometime in the future Diane x

This painting workshop was tremendous fun, exciting and magical. I still cannot quite believe I have created such a beautiful painting. Looking at it on the wall at home I can see real depth and nuances in the brush strokes that I didn't even realise I was putting in. My children are very proud of me and I can't wait for the next one!

I am so glad you enjoyed your day painting! It always amazes people at the speed the painting takes shape! It is very satisfying for me to watch the smiles on peoples faces as the day goes on.. and what beautiful results you all had too.. It will encourage your children to have a go as well, after seeing Mum's picture.. I will look forward very much to seeing you again in the future xx

A very good tutor ably assisted by her husband who looked after the refreshments , nothing too much trouble. The finished result was amazing and I cannot or thought I could not paint
