    Great house and parkland
We loved visiting Attingham. The ground floor and basement were open and we joined a tour of the house from one of the volunteers. She was excellent with so much knowledge of the house and family. We had a lovely walk around the parkland which has very easy terrain. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely staff , lovely grounds , dogs welcome.
We visited here with our son and we were greeted by Josh to access a membership, Josh was fabulous, so helpful and informative. We then went round the park and the mansion, all staff so friendly and welcoming, the staff in the mansion gave a task to my son to find things which he really enjoyed. Plenty of open space here and the park is super. My only criticism is they stop serving hot food at 2pm but open till 6, my son is Autistic and will only eat hot food so he couldn’t get anything (other than sausage rolls which he doesn’t eat) I think even extending to 4pm would be helpful. The price for food is a little steep too but we thoroughly enjoyed it. Dog friendly too. We will be back.

    Mega grounds
First time visit to Attingham Park, we didn’t go into the house as it’s not ‘our thing’ we spent a few hours walking the grounds which are huge. Lovely to have such close views of the fallow deers. Enjoyed a lovely & much needed cup of tea & cookie after our walk.

    Great day out.
First visit to Attingham. Great experience on an extremely busy day. Lots of dogs in the courtyard. The house was interesting although a little more signange would be useful. Very useful info in the grounds with the walks being graded, short, medium and longer, helping you choose what suits your party best. Would like other National Trusts to use this system in their grounds. Had a nice lunch in the courtyard cafe which came very quickly. Definitely recommended.

    Great day out
Our first time visiting a national trust property. England has such a great wealth of history and the house was very impressive. The grounds were absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed a long walk on a beautiful sunny day and even saw deer. Saw that they have canoeing on the river there although it wasn’t running whilst we were visiting. Would definitely recommend.

An interesting and enjoyable house and parkland to visit.
We had a fantastic experience visiting Attingham Mansion and Park for the first time today. The staff and volunteers were all friendly and helpful, especially Liz who suggested that we may enjoy the additional guided tour of the East wing (small additional charge). We booked the tour and were so pleased we did. Sonia our guide, was so knowledgeable, informative and engaging, making our trip really memorable. We would highly recommend visiting Attingham mansion and park.

    Attingham Park
Bog standard NT property with gardens. Nice enough but nothing really that makes it outstanding. Good to see some attempt at a play area for the kids here as with a lot of other NT properties they don’t offer too much in this regard

    Lovely parkland
Plenty of parking. We were greeted by a friendly lady who gave us a map of the estate and told us about the different walks on offer. We decided to do the Mile Walk, taking in the walled garden and orchard. Lots of very old, well established trees along the way and sections by the river. Occasional seating along the way. A few other people doing the same circuit in wheelchairs or pushing prams, which was nice to see. We enjoyed a snack at the cafe - cheese scone and a pasty, sitting in the large courtyard prettily decorated with bunting. We then had a browse in the very well organised second hand bookshop came away with a couple of books. They have a card machine which makes life a lot easier. We look forward to returning to have a look around the house.

    Insightful
Excellent afternoon. Can thoroughly recommend the East wing tour. I know there is a small additional fee of £3 but it was well worth it . Our guide was very knowledgeable and provided an entertaining insight into the recent occupation of the wing.

Attingham- a grand place to visit...
Plenty to do and see here. Estate walks(dogs allowed on lead), walled garden, fine period house, stables and gardens. All under the umbrella of the National Trust, 3-4 hours easily spent here.

Do not miss the under publicised Hidden House tour of the East Wing. It is so interesting that I have now done the tour twice. The two key persons involved in the relatively recent history of the house are described with fascinating insight , rarely experienced on my other NT visits. This is a memorable experience that you should not miss.

A house with a great story. The volunteers were very helpful – I guess I can see why some reviewers might have found them irritating. Normally, the visitor accosts the volunteer with a query, but here they were just very keen to impart their knowledge. The basement was very interesting and the displays were very informative. We weren't there for very long – maybe two hours.

Visited to break up a long journey, awful weather but can imagine it being lovely in the sun! Volunteers in the house were very knowledgeable and welcoming, shame the cafe workers lacked friendliness. Beautiful grounds, ideal for a stroll

Despite the weather not being great the day we visited, it was still an excellent day out. There’s some very interesting rooms in the house and the downstairs servants areas are of especial interest as they are not always on display. There’s also multiple walks in the grounds of varying lengths. The walled garden is being restored and looks fabulous as does the garden with the bothy and greenhouses which are under restoration. The old stable buildings are fabulous, especially the original section showing the stalls. Recommended.

A fantastic place for a walk, we really enjoyed the woodland walk and all the birds we could see and hear as well as learning a bit about the military history of the estate. The house itself was very interesting with plenty to see and the cafe offered a good range of cake to enjoy after going round the house!

Attingham Park is an amazing place for singles, couples, families, groups etc. The absolute best thing about the visit tiday was the secret rooms tour. I cannot recommend it enough. If you like some social history you will love it. Not suitable for children and best to pre-book this mini tour❤️

I visited Attingham with family, with the understanding that we can look around this amazing house and very little information otherwise.
Becuse of this I was amazed at the sight of this ex residential estate and just the pure size of it all.
The grounds were absolutely beautiful. At The front desk where we were informed of the different tours of the house. We opted for the apartments for today and I loved it. From someone who has a casually interested in the 'old fashioned', this was such a treat. it seems like another world, I found it so fascinating, how the rooms were left exactly as they were and where it all came from, who lived here and what they were like.
Our tour guide was lovely and really knew how to tell a story. Explaining every room in the living quarters and really showing us what it was like to live here. I would highly recommend if this sort of thing interests you. I'll have to back to explore the rest of the grounds.

Attingham Park, a National Trust property, was the chosen destination for a weekend outing with the family and our dog, upon my mother's suggestion. Eager to test my new plug-in hybrid, the availability of chargers at Attingham presented a perfect opportunity. Surprisingly, on a bustling Saturday, I found the charging stations empty—a fortunate start. However, the necessity for a specific app different from my usual one was a minor hiccup, requiring a brief walk to the entrance to access Wi-Fi for download and registration. The app's misleading initial fee, advertised at £30 but actually £100, was a drawback, although not a fault of the National Trust. Unfortunately, this meant I couldn't charge my car.

The walk towards the house was delightful, filled with well-behaved dogs on leashes, setting a positive tone. Our exploration took us through the forest areas, marred slightly by litter left by less considerate visitors. Nonetheless, the clearly marked and well-maintained footpaths, some freshly graveled, made for an easy and enjoyable walk, likely accommodating for strollers as well.

Ending our visit at the cafe, we enjoyed some delicious soup under the charming pergolas, which offered a cozy shelter from a brief spell of rain. Despite the initial inconvenience with the electric car charger, Attingham Park provided a lovely experience. Its well-kept grounds, friendly atmosphere, and thoughtful facilities like the cafe make it a place worth returning to.
