    Beautiful park by River Severn
During our holiday week we walked in the park on several evenings. It takes about half an hour to walk by the Severn from Victoria Quay to the other end near St Julians Friars car park (recommended). Percy Throwers Dingly Dell at the top of the park has lovely lake, flowers and shrubs, not to be missed. There is a childrens playground and splashpark (open at certain times).

    Beautiful walk
We walked around the perimeter of the park on a warm, sunny afternoon. The information boards were very useful as we knew very little about Shrewsbury. The riverside walk was welcome shade on a warm afternoon and the gardens on the opposite side of the river were a joy to see. Definitely worth a visit.

    Fabulous Gardens
Beautifully cared for gardens awash with colourful flowers. Lots of places to sit and admire the displays with subtle 'stags' and other sculptures dotted about. Lovely lake with obligatory ducks - gorgeous. Well done the gardeners, what a pleasure to visit.

Excellent play park with lots around
We hadn't been to the Quarry Park before but were recommended it by friends, and it was well worth it. Firstly, parking can be somewhat tricky but we went for the swimming baths, and that was perfect for the park and also for the eateries nearby. Venue The park itself is within the overall park, and is gated off from the grassed areas of the park and has picnic benches outside the boundary. The park is a tarmac topped play area with approximately 3 different sections, split out by age group/ability, but not sectioned off so you can still run from one side to the other without restriction. The first section caters to babies and toddlers and has a smaller playframe as its centrepiece with some seperate balance activities nearby. The second section is more for toddlers and older children, with a large playframe, climbing wall, climbing ropes and metal slide. My children (2 and 5yrs old) were both able to use it comfortably and there is a contained cage at the very top with some seating. The final section has a bridge, a spinning bowl and different types of swings an is open to any age who are capable. Tip: Due to some of the equipment in the second section having climbing platforms, it does mean that there are sections where there is no containment. If your child is not confident with heights or balance then its worth standing by just in case they lose balance. The park has amenities provided by a café company serving from a well decorated trailer/container. There are a great selection of ice creams, hot drinks, pastries and more although it can be slightly more pricey than you'd get from an ice cream van. However, we felt that for the level of service, and the seating areas provided it was actually pretty reasonable. There is a covered area just by the water which is really nice even in the rain. The main paths alongside the play area lead either towards the centre of town (with eateries etc) or further along the water and into the park, where there are lots of great sights. Of the eateries in town, I would recommend Hickory's for families as its close-by and caters to kids well. There are also two attractions nearby, the first is the splash park which is next to the play park and the second is the inflatables setup within the park on the grass, and these are great fun for the kids and accept cash and cards. Both are only available on certain days, so aren't there all year round. Overall, I'd say that this is a great park option and we travelled 25mins to get there and we were not disappointed. We have also been to Telford Town Park which is relatively close by and also very good. We would say that the positives for each are that Telford has a lot more activities and equipment, and that Shrewsbury can be less busy and seems to attract a different type of clientele (less dogs, less swearing, more involved parents). I don't mind either of them but it can sway others.

Fantastic whatever the weather. So clean and such a great location. Popped over to St Chads church and found Ebenezer Scrooges head stone. Great fun. The dingle is just so well kept. Hats off to all that work so hard in maintaining this local attraction

Lovely walk by the river and the sun came out. Managed to dodge the sausage dog walkers from the opposite direction

The park offers fabulous floral displays with beautifully laid out beds and water features. Well worth the walk. Several ice cream and snack vendors nearby.

Great line up , great venue but why £7 a pint , £6.50 for a can!!! Didn't bother even looking at food could tell by the lack of customers prices were ridiculous, people would spend a lot more if prices were reasonable , we went to the local pubs in-between acts and saved a fortune and also put money into the local economy
