Great farm shop but our lunch was awful. Salad was gritty and the ‘rarebits’ were like scooped out bread bricks filled with inedible cheese. Very poor advert for British cuisine.

my daughter and I visited on a busy Saturday lunchtime. No tables were available inside but we just managed to get one outside as it became available. The young lady who helped us at this time was very personable. We had to go inside to order and I felt the young man in there seemed very stressed and there was obviously no time for niceties. We had opted for the deli plate for 2 and were very pleased with our choice. The scotch egg was the best, the sausage roll very tasty. The slices of beef were so succulent and the ham with mustard seeds was very nice. There was a huge choice of different cheeses with chutney and a large bread roll. Our only criticism would be that the cheese would be so much better served with crackers.

A interesting site ideal for spending a couple of hours . The site has a small exhibit building with lots of info on the battle and those who took part in it. With the added bonus of being free to enter . Their is a delightful cafe that serves a excellent coffee. We were joined in ourcoffee by the oldest farm cat we had ever seen, which was lovely. Their is a short walk to the battlefield church across some fields. But that is well worth it. The church reeks of history and has some beautiful stained glass windows.

My husband and I travelled to this café for a cup of coffee and cake as we were in the area and it has always been good. We haven't been since covid but thought it won't have changed that much. How wrong were we! There used to be loads of tables and chairs outside where you could bring your dog whilst you ate and drank. This time there were only 7 tables with lots of additional space which could have been used. Those tables outside were mostly full and the empty two tables had loads of dirty dishes on them so we put the dog back in the car and went inside and were told that we had 15 minutes to wait for a table. The server on the till didn't know who was next so people were pushing in. We then went into the shop and although I appreciate that all the produce is fresh the prices were very high and in my opinion, a bit of a rip off. We will not be returning. sadly it was not the experience we were expecting!

We visited yesterday afternoon, in glorious sunshine, visited the exhibition centre, very detailed and authentic, great for all ages.
Falconry centre is marvellous, variety of species with great care giving to the birds and Mark is truly a professional .
The restaurant was a wonderful experience, we were met by Hailey who showed us to our table and looked after us. The drinks and scones were top quality with attention to detail, very clean, calm and relaxing environment. 100% quality
Farm Shop was fantastic with so much choice with truly great quality fayre on display
A true gem in Shropshire,

Arrived for opening time this morning. First to be seated in the downstairs cafe. Four other tables arrived. The four other tables had their order taken and no staff member came to take our order. We would expect first come first served. As we got up to leave. A staff member asked if everything was ok and we explained the situation. No apology was offered. Very poor service.

Went today (Saturday) morning for breakfast. Very busy, good atmosphere. Waited longer than expected but kind of expected that due to how busy it was. Breakfast was good £10.50 for the full one, what was annoying was when we paid they charged us £4.90 for 2 flat whites. Menu states breakfast comes with coffee or tea or 50p for a speciality drink. Lady on the counter said that only means lattes and cappuccinos?!! Very odd-I said it would have been nice to have been made aware of that when ordering. So basically my breakfast including a hash brown (75p) and black pudding (75p) as those don’t come with breakfast and a coffee £2.45 all together cost me £14.45. X 2 as was with my wife, so almost £30 for a breakfast and a coffee for 2, Which I do think is a bit of a rip off. Although it was very good and fresh ingredients I won’t be returning after paying that and being made to feel a bit silly after questioning why the coffee wasn’t with the breakfast.

I tried the sparrows cafe for the first time and ordered what they call a BBLT for £7.25 and was dissappointed with a one rasher, lettuce and mayo roll and a bunch of rocket, couple of cucumber and tomato pieces with some coleslaw.
Definitely won't be calling back here again at somewhere that prides themselves on local produce but charges extortionate prices.

Staff in the cafe non committal and very rude. Felt like we were doing them a favour. Not what you normally expect from an establishment like this
