Built in 1596, Shrewsbury's iconic Old Market Hall was lovingly restored and re-opened as a contemporary cinema and cafe bar in 2004. The intimate 81-seat cinema screens a diverse programme of independent film, classics, world cinema, documentaries, and popular releases. The accompanying Cafe Bar is hugely popular as a place to meet friends and relax in historic surroundings, serving an array of teas, coffees, cold drinks, cake and alcoholic beverages. There is no place like... OMH.

Slightly disappointed as not as many stalls as I expected there to be, mostly arts and craft shops and places to eat will not be visiting again in the future.

The Old Market Hall is in the centre of town. If you didn't know it was there you would simply say the building was quaint and walk on by. However, you would be missing a lovely cinema. It's no multiplex (there's one of those out...More

This is a wonderful cinema, located in a fantastic building in the market square. The cafe bar is fantastic for coffee, wine & snacks. We had a sandwich & a sausage roll, both served with crisps & salad garnish. The cinema is lovely & there...More

The OMH is not cheap compared with some cinemas, but it is a quality venue. The cafe/bar can get very busy before a popular film. It has a good atmosphere and friendly staff. It has a selection of newspapers and lots of leaflets about other...More
