Interesting in that this is all that is left of the town wall but neither particularly attractive in itself or its setting, still worth a look.

A very interesting remnant of the old Shrewsbury town walls, it does look like it is falling over :(

The Town Walls Tower is of historic importance - but in need of attention. The authorities could do more to make this a more interesting place. I think an information board would be useful. I understand that it is under the jurisdiction of the National...More

I really love old and historic buildings. I was pleased to see what I saw however there was very little in the way of information boards to provide any history or context. If you are in the area have a look otherwise don't bother.

The Shrewsbury town walls are much less significant than those of York. Having completed the York walls walk one 's expectations were somewhat deflated. However, do not let this deter you as we found exploring Shrewsbury's nooks and crannies much better than York.

This delightful tower remains from the old town walls - unfortunately it has only limited opening on about four days a year. Check with the National Trust.

Just taking a 30 minute walk on the old town walls sees so much from the new to the very old. Great way to get a feel for the place.

Really lovely Catholic cathedral designed by Pugin and built by his son. A lovely collection of brilliant, colourful and quality stained glass by Margaret Rope. Highly recommended.
