......... you enjoy finding out the REALLY interesting things about the places you visit, you cannot fail to take a Blue Badge Walking Tour in Bath. Straightaway we felt safe under these strange new Social Distancing regulations and throughout the walk, the places we stopped at were safe to allow us not to impede each other and people who were not on the walk with us.

Of course, a Blue Badge Guide is a qualified individual and our guide, Phil, was not only extremely knowledgeable but had that certain “something” that brought the city to life in a thoroughly entertaining and enthusiastic way. He, as do most Blue Badge Guides I imagine, obviously loves his city and enjoys being with people who are inquisitive enough to find out more than just the mundane.

Great value, thank you Blue Badge Walking Tours & Phil!

Oh and, by the way, Phil’s a Bath Rugby man, just in case you may support rival exponents of the oval ball!!

Thanks for such a full and generous review. You're right we really do enjoy meeting visitors and love their questions. We hope that they will appreciate the city as much as we do even if they are not Bath Rugby supporters. Phil, like all our guides is Blue Badge qualified and therefore meets the rigorous standard of the Institute of Tourist Guiding. Hope to see you again

If you are in Bath make sure you do this tour!!! I learnt so much about Bath in that 90 minute walk, our tour guide Tony was absolutely amazing he was full of knowledge and has a genuine love for this city

The tour is operating in small groups so you can tour safely and maintain social distancing. There are 2 tours one at 11:30 the other at 14:30 so make sure you go there early to avoid disappointment, but they are currently operating daily so you should be able to book a tour. You will see them situated near the Cathedral and Roman Baths so you won't miss them, they take both cash and card payments to accommodate tourists/residents so there is no excuse not to go.

We had a couple of days’ break in Bath last week and decided to take in some culture and history with a walking tour that we found online.
Luckily we were the only ones on our tour so it became a private guided tour.
Tony, our guide, was really excellent.
Incredibly nice guy and so knowledgable about the city and its fascinating history.
It was a real pleasure to see how much he enjoyed his job, taking us around and recounting tale after tale of Bath’s history.
He went the extra mile to show us things he wouldn’t normally have time to show.

We would highly recommend this! Ask for Tony.

Thank you Tony! Dan and Clau

Charles our guide was very well-informed, guided us through bath and his history with thorough and on point knowledge. At no point he was boring or spent too much or too little time on tour spot.

The tour was about two hours long and I feel like we had been given a good sense of what the main attractions in the city are and of the history around the city and its infrastructure and how it relates to historical figures.

To top it all off this activity was for free.

We took this tour at the last minute because the original Bath heritage tour we had booked had been cancelled without our notice. Andrew, our tour guide, was a history teacher and hugely knowledgable about the city. He also successfully managed to engage my three tour-phobic children aged between 10-13. He taught them everything in such an interesting way and really brought the history of the city to life. Highly recommend for all ages and ask for Andrew!

I booked this tour for the day we arrived in Bath. Tony was our guide. He was full of really interesting tales taking us through Bath's history - we were transported from Roman to Georgian times to the wars and the present day. There was so much to learn and Tony really brought everything to life. It was the ideal way to get to know the city's history and it made our visit to Bath all the more interesting. Throughly recommend the tour - booking, timing, tour size etc all excellent.

This was a brilliant introduction to Bath with such a knowledgeable guide, Andrew, whose passion for Bath and engaging story telling, seemed to give him as much pleasure as the group. He chatted to us all, we asked questions and with every question came another fascinating anecdote. He says he would run over time and he did, there was no rush at all. Really strongly recommend this tour.

Fantastic tour. Our tour guide was Julie, I think, (a lovely lady from Bath & her Father was a surveyor in Bath?!?!) was fantastic!! So lovely, welcoming, informative and friendly. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her and learning from her. She personalised our tour to the people on the tour and spoke with everyone individually at different times. I REALLY enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend. Also worth noting that anybody could do this tour, there are lots of breaks so if you were worried about the walking, there are lots of stops to catch your breath! Really worthwile tour.

We arrived in Bath around lunchtime and had pre booked a walking tour to orientate ourselves to the town. Hop on buses are great but you cannot beat the face to face interaction with a guide who is available to answer all your questions. The tour lasted about one and a half hours and after it we felt we understood a bit about the history of the town and were confident enough to explore on our own areas we were particularly interested in. Our guide was called Andrew and we have to say was very knowledgeable but also entertaining, involving all our group in the tour. Recommend this trip to all those visiting Bath for the first time.

We spent such an interesting morning with our guide Andrew who was so incredibly knowledgeable about Bath, having lived here for many years. He knew so much about this fascinating place and he shared this knowledge in such an interesting and engaging way. We learnt so much in such a short space of time and can thoroughly recommend this walking tour to anyone visiting for the first time.
