    Good Friday races
Had a lovely day, was busy but the amenities were good and there were plenty of bars, food places etc and little rides for the kids. Even the toilets were fair for races. Rating given due to total chaos leaving! No organisation at all! the cars, taxis, buses etc all stuck in a non moving queue! No one seemed to be directing traffic. After an hour in the car we’d moved 10 feet from our space and the kids were desperate for the loo, the lady tried to stop us re entering the race course! I explained that the cars hadn’t moved in over an hour and she didn’t want to know, eventually the queue of people trying to get back to the loos made it clear this wasn’t us being awkward and she let us back in. Shame a great day out was so spoiled by the disorganised car park

    Poorly managed
Family day at the races - badly managed. Spend the day queuing for drinks and toilets. Struggled to cross over to the family area as they only allowed (poorly advertised) limited crossing times on a very narrow path. Minimum bets was advertised as £2 and but reality was £5 minimum. Website said you could use card for payment but lots of bookies didn’t take card. Free kids rides was a nightmare free for all that was best to stay away from. Not impressed. You would have thought they had some experience doing family days but didn’t feel like it.

Lovely Race Track , But Bring your own food - very poor food options during the week.
A lovely track with amazing views from the garden terrace ( we paid extra for the ticket ) great setting but absolutely awful options for food , coffee shop poor, vegetarian options in the coffee shop or at the burger van ( though the burgers were good ) non existent. How management at a track so nice can get it so wrong with food options is beyond me. I’d certainly return, but most likely with a picnic hamper.

    Dreadful waste of money
Booked the pavilion restaurant for 8 people at £99 per head. Nice looking venue but no atmosphere at all. Food was buffet style but we were not allowed to help ourself, we had to point out what we wanted and the server dished up for us. I was offered 3 small potatoes and was refused when I asked for a few more, Sliced ham was cut into quarters and only 1 piece each, 1 slice of sausage roll and few veg. I asked for butter for my roll and was told they had run out. Water glasses were on the table but no water offered, I was told we could purchase it at the bar. I’m struggling to see what we actually got for our £99 and bar drinks were very over priced. We thought for what we paid there would be toilets in the venue but we’re told to use the Porto loos outside which had huge queues as they were for general public too. Definitely not worth the money, it’s a total waste of time.

Nightmare helicopter rides ruin racecourse and otherwise peaceful and beautiful area
Visit totally marred by noisy helicopter flights landing and taking off. In the middle of a climate crisis it seems madness the racecourse allows this and people even consider taking these trips. It’s also a nightmare for local residents . I’d encourage everyone to shun the racecourse til they cancel these flights.

    Disappointing
Attended the racecourses in August for my husbands birthday we booked the rooftop. We arrived at 1.45 to find there were no available seats and by the time the races started at 3pm there were no available view spots either. We ended up sitting on the grass. We did complain on the day but was told seats were on a first come basis. So unless you arrive when the gates open you've no chance of getting a seat. Waste of money. Although we would attend again, it is a lovely racecourse but just pay the gate fee.

    Fist visit to Bath Racecourse
We opted to purchase roof top terrace ticket at £65 each. The views are great and located near the finish line. You can see the whole course which is good. However the seating area had a few cushions on old rattan furniture and when I asked if we could have some more, I was told everything they had was out, so 2 of our party did without. The Bar:- Reasonably priced bar but only Porretti on draught and Guinness was offered in cans. I don’t understand this as they had draught Guinness at the bottom bar (plastic glasses only) and also in the restaurant, so why don’t they offer it on the roof top bar 🤷🏼‍♂️ We had an enjoyable day but they could do with a few little tweaks to make it more hospitable.

We love Bath races! We always go at least once every summer, and we always have a lovely day out! The facilities are very good and there are just the right amount of people there to make it really comfortable! We would recommend this as a great day out for family and friends!

I have attended Bath racecourse for well over 10 years and nearly always enjoyed attending. Sadly ladies day yesterday was not at all the case. We upgraded to the Rooftop terrace as we had heard about poor service and lengthy queues last year. We attended early as we wanted to secure good seats and were the second party. I went to the bar and ordered some drinks. It didn’t get off to a good start. We wanted a bottle of champagne but they had no ice buckets or coolers so we bought a glass instead. I ordered a lager shandy and the staff didn’t really know how to poor one. Also when they poured the lemonade it looked flat. When adding the larger it was over fizzy and made the drink difficult to pour. This was ominous as the bar was only going to get much much busier as as the course had advertised “we are expecting large crowds today”. My wife decided she would like some Pimms instead of champagne so I dutifully nipped down to the soletary Pimm’s bar. There was a small queue as it was still early (around midday) and within 5 minutes of queueing the bar staff announced the pimms had “run out” and there would be a 30 minute delay! I decided to stay and to be honest the pimms was running again within say 10 minutes. But again it struck me that the staff were very inexperienced and inadequately trained. More evidence of a demand and supply issue when when I went to get my daughter a pasty. To see a massive queue and a 45 minute delay for pasties. What is going on with probably one of the busiest days of the calendar but “large crowds anticipated”. The frothy larger fiasco carried on all day at the rooftop bar we had paid extra (£55 a ticket) for a degree of exclusivity and hopefully no or little queueing for drinks. Towards the end of the racing my wife asked for a glass of red wine for me (as I was fed up with the fizzy lager and wait for it. The young bar lady went to the fridge and then said they didn’t have any when there were 6 bottles of red on a shelf above the fridge. The irony was she just poured a quite large glass (not using the wine measures) so we did well on that occasion. There were no bins on the terrace and no staff collecting rubbish. It got quite messy/untidy as the afternoon progressed. Also despite signs saying no smoking or vaping these rules were clearly being ignored. We mentioned it to one racecourse marshal but nothing seemed to happen. All in all Bath a very poorly organised and run event not giving a good impression or making for a pleasant experience we had hoped for. You need to sort this out Bath especially if you are going to charge a premium and up your prices for attendance on the day. Very disappointing.

I have been a patron of Bath Races for over 10 years and ladies day is a highlight of the year. However, this year it was a shambles.

In a nut shell :
No food
No drink
Lots of Queues
No horses and the entire site was filthy.

We know the racecourse were expecting a large crowd as they had said so on their notes on the BHA website. Yet the food and drink couldn’t keep up with demand to the point where there was a 45 min wait for a pasty! 45 min. They only take 20 mins to cook at home!

Within half an hour of opening the pimms stall had ran out. After queuing for ages they said it would take half an hour to get more. There was a very clear case of demand out stripping supply and the inexperienced teenagers running all these stands just didn’t know what to do.

As I say, we had experienced ladies day before so we paid extra for the roof garden. This is sold as an elevated experience with a ticket price more expensive that Royal Ascot. It was a shambles. They couldn’t get the lager to pour. We had to wait over half an hour whilst they fixed it (and it still wasn’t fixed then!) there must have been at least a barrel of wastage. No commentary for 5/7 races. I asked four members of staff for the TV to be switched on to watch the racing and no one could change the channel from BBC 1 so it showed the football all day. People are not supposed to smoke or vape upstairs and there is clear signage telling you this but people seemed to just do what they like and do it anyway. Where was security to stop this? The only positive from the day was I didn’t not have to queue for the toilets as there are toilets upstairs. Friends downstairs reported queues of 20 mins for the ladies.

Add to it there were no bins we were surrounded by pizza boxes and rubbish all day. Staff were wandering aimlessly around collecting the odd glass but not collecting any of the plastic ones or any rubbish. The staff desperately need more training - one guy handed me a bottle of beer and didn’t even open it until I asked and another girl told me there was no red wine despite seeing 5 bottles on the bar. She had been looking for it in the fridge!!! How are these competent bar staff for the busiest day of the year! Which ever agency you hired these from you need a refund!

Then to the action. One race had 3 horses. Most had 5 horses. This is the biggest day or the year and there are less than 40 horses! How does this provide good racing? I spent most of my time on my phone preferring Sandown or Chester.

Needless to say, I won’t be bothering next year. Will save the money and spend it at Ascot instead.

We came as a group of friends to the Good Friday race meet, such a beautiful day weather wise so I was not surprised to see so many people.
We did queue for about 20 minutes from the top of Lansdown lane to park so not too bad, spoke to my niece who has young children and they were so impressed with children were free and all the fun fair rides, donkey rides, petting area etc was all free… wow amazing for families at this hard time.
The atmosphere was amazing and the races had a nice lot of entries in each race, the toilets were very clean and pleasant to use maybe the paper towel bins could have been emptied but not a huge issue.
Food and drink was a bit pricey but no more so than any other similar venues, staff all very friendly especially the bookies by the racetrack, we managed to get table and chairs but some of our group arrived early as they go very quickly.
The only downside to the day was the hour sat in the car trying to exit the car park, the punch point was the gate before the two roads split and this is where people were loosing their tempers beeping and swearing at each other and the officials seemed to give up directing people.
Overall a great day would have been perfect if the car park ran better though.
