Established in 1865, Bath Rugby is one of the oldest and most prestigious rugby clubs in the world. The Recreation Ground, or 'Rec' is one of the most idyllic rugby grounds in the country. It nestles next to the River Avon, under the shadow of both the Bath Abbey and Great Pulteney Street, a Georgian masterpiece.

Happened to be wandering past during our few hours in Bath recently and noticed an open gate so ventured in. The security fella didn't mind me going into what looked like the enclosure for those with mobility issues (wheelchairs) and taking a few photos. In large parts of the stadium the spectators are in the open. I would've expected that,... More

Visited to watch Bath, despite the result and weather trying to spoil it we had a great time. The location is outstanding, a short walk from the baths and other attractions. The staff and both sides supporters all very friendly. On site there was no end of food and drink available and whilst all had massive queues they went down... More

Been here a few times, proper rugby ground, good crowd, easy entrance and exit, plenty of bars and toilets. Never any problems here, if you are a rugby fan it is a 'must go' place. Shame Harlequins could not win! We will be back!

The main bar ... Surely SURELY Bath Rugby or whichever Corporate runs the bar must have some previous intelligence on how many pints of lager/Guinness/ale/cider they pour during the interval , whether it's a Thursday , Friday , Saturday or Sunday . So why don't they (at least) pour a %age of pints in readiness for the 15 or so... More

We happened to be in Bath and realised Bath were playing Saracens during our stay. The location of the ground is right in the centre of the city and tickets were readily available.Top class premiership rugby with a smattering of Internationals on show. Great game. Wonderful atmosphere. Well worth a visit if you are in Bath.

The pitch is right by the city and has fantastic views back to the abbey and city. There is a great family atmosphere and it is enjoyable to spill on to the grass before and after the game. The queues for the beer were dreadful and we gave up before the game as we would have missed the start. Only... More

I went to a game of Bath Rugby because a English friend invited me. As a Dutch guy I've been to lots of international tests but a match of Bath Rugby at the Rec is a whole different level. You smell the grass, you feel the tackles, you hear the clashes and you enjoy it all with a beer, mixed... More
