Don't miss the steps just after the bridge which take you down to the far bank. You can then walk along and over the next bridge. Note that the adjacent park has a £2 entrance charge!Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 April 2023

- tasgardHobart, Australia261 contributionsA must see.The Bridge is an amazing example of 18th Century architecture and construction. Walking along the roadway with shops either side is interesting but you have to move away down the riverside a little to see the grandeur of this icon. The sandstone construction and the unique design are wonderful pieces of preserved history. We visited the bridge when we were in the UK several years ago. At that time all the shops on the bridge were occupied and appeared to be thriving. Unfortunately, there now empty shops along the bridge detracting from the overall feel of the place. It is one of the top tourist sites in the UK, a must see irrespective of the condition of the shops.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 7 July 2023

The Bridge itself is an architectural marvel and includes shops within the bridge structure. The River Avon is gorgeous, as are the nearby parks and gardens. This is a great place to go if you just want to hang out and enjoy the day. Good restaurants and shops abound close by.Visited May 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 July 2023
- HINA WIslamabad, Pakistan6,566 contributionsOne of the most Photographed Structures of Bath! This bridge was constructed in 1774. We saw it magnificently spanning over the River Avon in Bath. It was built to connect the city with the Pluteney family estates on the other side of the river. It was designed by the famous architect Robert Adams. This masterpiece of Georgian architecture is built in the Palladian Style. It is lined with miniature shops and eateries. It reminded me of Ponte Vicchio in Florence.Visited August 2022Travelled with familyWritten 16 July 2023

This is a great spectacle and a wonderful piece of architecture. Bath is the only place where a bridge like this feels truly at home. The views of it are lovely and the views from it, specifically from one of the pretty little cafes on the bridge itself are also beautiful.
Apart from bridges in Italy like the Rialto and the ponte vecchio I haven’t seen anything like it. Adorned with shops and cafes that are worth a quick look in their own right.

I went for a run along the river and it was ended up here. It was truly beating to see below as well as up top. The reflection on the calm river made for some great photos.

A very interesting bridge. Pleasant to look at. Pleasant to walk across. Also pleasant to take a boat ride under it. But, the shops and restaurants on and around it are not impressive.

This is my favourite part of Bath and that's high praise in a beautiful city. Day or night it's beautiful. Nice cake and coffee on the bridge and just looking at the river from above. The boat trip is well worth doing and if you're lucky some nice wildlife.

Felix Morel
De vingerhoeden van Toll House on Pulteney Bridge in Bath
Vingerhoednieuws 19e jaargang Nummer 82
Friedy Kamp.
Felix was stomverbaasd.

Hey, sorry for the delay! Someone might be able to correct me as I'm back in Nashville now but I feel as though there was only one main road into the town of Bath where Pulteney Bridge is located. The winding roads were stunning...just wished I could've had a change to pull off for a view and taken some pictures. The mist and light rain prevented us from doing so :(
Enjoy your trip!!
