Designed by John Wood II (1767-75), the Royal Crescent is comprised of thirty houses, shaped like a half-Colosseum, which uses a gigantic series of Ionic columns on high bases.

The Georgian architecture of Bath is outstanding. This is the star of the show! The Royal Crescent and it IS regal. Not to be missed.

From the moment we were greeted at the front door to the time we left the stay was faultless! We were even welcomed by the General Manager and offered tea in the lounge which was fantastic. He was also chatting to other guests so clearly...More

A must, and has to be seen, would recommend doing this on a city tour, but just a short walk from the city centre, it's just worth looking just by yourselves it is amazing.

This place is a very unusual. I will recommend to take a guide. You can take a group tour from tourist center. Lot's of information, interesting.

It is worth walking steeply uphill to absorb this curved row of terraced Georgian town houses, most of which are still residences but mainly now divided into apartments.
