    Enjoyable experience
Enjoyable experience when visiting bath. It’s a must do when you visit. It is quite expensive and I found it a challenge to book but I ended up walking in and booking for the following day with zero problem. Sauna facilities are good and both pools are lovely. We really enjoyed our two hour visit there
Thank you for taking time to comment on your visit. We are glad your enjoyed your visit at Thermae Bath Spa.

Mostly a good experience except the cafe
We were surprised to be able to walk into the spa on such a busy day in Bath with the Christmas market. I had tried to phone and email to book a slot but had no response from either. It was relatively quiet to begin with which was lovely. The main letdown was the cafe- prepackaged sandwiches, most of which were not available, and a limited selection of other items. Both of our choice of sandwiches were not very good and it certainly let down an otherwise enjoyable stay. Also the water was warm in the water fountain in the Minerva pool which was not pleasant. We would return as it is a lovely experience but might give the cafe a miss next time.

    Expensive and overcrowded
Thermae Bath Spa video and leaflet looked very good but in reality was not. £38 for 2 hours approx. But so many people were admitted that all the steam, sauna rooms, etc were packed., and the pools were nearly as bad. Handed towel and a robe on entry - loops for belt both missing. Cafe inside a complete rip of tea £2.50 a cup and £2.50 for a snack bar. Glad my partner and i did visit , to experience the rooftop pool was nice but wont be rushing back.

    Rather a shoddy experience
Rather a shoddy experience overall. It’s all a bit tired. Silly number of lockers, loos and lifts labelled out of order. Bath robe with loops missing. Long wait for a changing room to become free. All small stuff, maybe, but they strongly detract from the what should be a top class experience. It simply is not that.

    Chaotic and overcrowded
Extremely overcrowded and chaotic, and so not a relaxing experience. Massage was Ok, nothing special. One lift broken and a narrow staircase meant moving between areas was a struggle. Saunas we’re so full people were standing up like in a commuter train. Pools awkwardly crowded. Changing facilities a complete cluster-fudge.

More of a Cattle Farm than a Spa
From the moment you walk into the spa it feels busy, overcrowded and like you are cattle being just another number. This is absolutely fine when you’re paying under a tenner at a public baths. However not the environment that would be expected at the cost they charge. On entering and leaving the spa the staff were very disinterested and didn’t leave any impression or desire to return. Although clearly with the conveyor belt of tourists that come through, return visits are not high on their agenda. The whole experience is functional rather than relaxing. This certainly serves a purpose of it what you are expecting, however their marketing team do solid work at advertising a relaxing spa day. It is certainly not that. There are also many missed opportunities here. It is missing a good, cosy restaurant and bar that would feel inviting. Instead it has a soulless cafe that feels unappealing to spend more than a functional bite to eat in. It could also do with a rooftop bar or at least a small area of the pool where people can enjoy a drink. If a small area is staffed and controlled then the issue of drink spillages or accidents is minimised. This would certainly enhance the experience for many. However it seems that they want you in and out as quickly as possible. I think if they address these issues and work on the experience matching the cost, then they will avoid negative reviews such as this and many others on here.

    Great
Loved the time I spent here, relaxing and de-stressing. Nick was excellent and extremely helpful, He looked after me and my mum throughout our visit. The only issue we had, was that flip-flops were given as footwear. Mum has closed toes on one foot so she struggled and they kept coming off. It also meant we missed half an hour of our time so I would have liked longer. But I can't fault the atmosphere, staff or the meal we had. Good experience to uptake if you visit the city.

Nice facilities spoilt by rowdy groups
The pools, saunas and relaxation room are all lovely and we enjoyed our first half hour, but after that it became very busy. There were several large, noisy groups, one of which thought it would be hilarious to push the rack holding everyone's robes and slippers into the pool so that everything got soaked. Definitely not a relaxing experience. I feel that they need to ban large groups if they're going to describe this as a "spa".

    Relaxing time
This is quite a place to visit and we'll organised. Spread over three floors which was a bit awkward with one lift out! The open air pool at the top was great, swimming around looking over the rooftops and chimney stacks of Bath. Second floor a relaxing floor of saunas, steamrooms etc... First floor lovely large, warm pool with plenty of space. Downside a little busy and my locker broke, other than that all good.

We have booked Thermae Welcome 2-hour package. If you spend some money in the Springs Cafe, you get extra 30 min and that's even better. The Spa was very good and has exceeded our expectations - both pools were lovely & relaxing, the water was very warm. Treatment rooms/saunas infused with fantastic fragrance of essential oils. Loved it! And, it was not busy at all considering it was a Saturday.

Although, some points to consider improvement:

- The changing place needs some benches/seating spaces.
- The cafe has quite limited choice of food - it would be fantastic if they were selling a choice of healthy food.
- I understand it's a relaxing environment and no phones/cameras allowed, however, this place is one of the top attractions in Bath and it's understandable quite a lot of visitors do want photos. Why don't the management arrange a member of staff taking some photos for an extra charge, framing into nice pre-made colourful booklets and selling at the end of a session, instead of making their staff just stand (especially at the Rooftop pool, in the cold!) and watching that everyone behaves and not take out their phones? Everyone would certainly benefit.

In general, our experience was great and I'd 100% recommend visiting this place to everyone exploring Bath.

My husband and I booked the spa for a Friday afternoon, along with a treatment each. We had our treatments first, and they were lovely. The masseuse's we had were very professional, friendly and gave a lovely massage. After that, we were sent to the 'relaxation area'. This was anything but. It was a small area at the side of the spa, lights on full blast, whereas most relaxation rooms I've been to before have dimmed lighting to relax! The area was freezing cold and the chairs to sit on were not comfy at all. All you could hear were people talking in the pool, it sounded like your local leisure centre, so it was anything but relaxing so we left after a few minutes.
The rooftop pool was lovely, great views and a very warm pool. It was absolutely packed though, it felt like you were sardines. Again, it didn't feel like a luxury spa. It felt like a local pool, where they let as many people in as they could to get more money.
The indoor pool was very warm, but again was absolutely full of people. The changing rooms and showers were fine, but there was one lift broken which I've read about on previous reviews, so obviously has been broken for a while. All in all, it was ok. I would've expected more of a 'luxury' feel given the prices we paid, but it felt like a day at Center Parcs. Far too many people and it feels like everything in the spa needs an update. Overall, I wouldn't recommend if you're wanting a luxury day.

Visited with two couples was accepted at walk ins and booking is recommended. The spa areas were littered with out of order showers broken down lifts and looking overall a little tired. The plus side the sauna / steam rooms were good and the pools were acceptable. I guess we went in with high hopes and were gently let down.

I recently left the place I got to say it was shocking to see how dangerous that place is and tbh I’m very disappointed of how I was treat by the management side and wasn’t even treated with respect after having mental health issues. The public don’t see behind the scenes

Well this is world class. Throughout the year a roof top open air swimming pool which is cooled, not heated to 37 degrees. I'm going back in the depths of winter, probably at dusk simply to enjoy the contrast. The water is not saline like some German spas. Go.

We visited late on a Monday afternoon. There are signs at the door which direct people to the left for walk ins or to the right for pre bookings. Neither had a queue when we turned up for our pre booked visit. The Spa is spread over 6 floors with the Minerva Bath indoor pool, treatment rooms, toilets and showers on the lower ground floor, main entrance and shop on the ground floor, changing rooms and lockers on upper ground, Springs Cafe, more treatment rooms and toilets on 1st floor, Wellness Suite, more treatment rooms again, terrace and more toilets on 2nd floor, and finally the open-air rooftop pool on the third floor.
There are two spiral staircases, on opposite sides of the building, that connect all the floors with around 20 - 25 steps between each floor. If you wanted to go from the Minerva indoor pool on the lower ground straight up to the Rooftop pool at the top floor you will find yourself walking up over 100 steps. Some people simply start from one end and work up / down to the other.
There are 2 centrally located lifts, however one was out of order (and has been for a while). Each lift is supposed to take a maximum of 4 people (they are quite small) so you could be waiting for some time, and not ideal if you have mobility or breathing issues.
No mobile phones are allowed in the building beyond the reception area and have to be placed in a small padded bag, which is then “locked” by the staff. You are then given a rubber blue tag bracelet, which you wear on your wrist, a large white clean robe and towel. You are not given any footwear, so lots of people had brought their own flip-flops / sliders or other “beach footwear” and this was definitely an advantage when walking up and down the stairs, which have a very tactile anti-slip surface.
The changing rooms and lockers are a short walk away (up a few steps). We managed to find an empty changing room easily but finding an empty locker took a bit longer as a surprising number were out of order. You hold your blue wrist tag up against an electronic screen to secure your locker.
We tried almost all of the facilities. Both swimming pools have a maximum depth of 1.35 metres. We found both the swimming pools warmer than your average sports centre pool, with the indoor Minerva the warmer of the two. The publicity photos show them very quiet, when we visited there were around 30 people in each pool and this rose to nearer 50 in the rooftop pool an hour later when we had a second swim. I would definitely describe them as busy, particularly all the favourite “bubble spots” but there was still enough space to move around and enjoy the general pool area.
The Wellness suite rooms could all accommodate 10 – 15 people with the exception of the Celestial Relaxation room which was nearer 5. This was always full when we tried to get in. All the other rooms had a steady trickle of people coming and going. The showers and infrared heaters seemed a little temperamental to activate.
The Springs Cafe was fairly large with seating for around 50 people. We had a coffee and biscuit. The cost is loaded to your bracelet and you pay at reception as you leave the main building at the end of your visit. You are allowed to stay an extra 30 minutes in the Spa if you make a purchase. There was a good food selection on offer from light snacks, yoghurts, biscuits, cake, to full meals. A third of the tables had been pre reserved by people especially those by the windows overlooking the street outside.
When you are finished there are areas near the locker room where you can shower, which had dispensers with shampoo, shower gel and conditioner that you could use. The showers were a bit on the cold side for our liking.
We were pleasantly surprised by our first visit, and certainly enjoyed the experience overall.

The pools, massage, facial, steam rooms, all left us feeling like new people once we left. Only down side was the number of lockers that were out of order, made the start of the visit very annoying...what is wrong with a key??

It was a lovely evening and my wife and I enjoyed the experience - however just something to think about- other customers take any old robes at the pools and saunas, as they forget where they placed theirs, and when your wet and cold putting on someone else’s damp robe is not pleasant.. there is no system in place to stop it happening either. It was pretty off putting- also foot ware is not provided foc so take your own or hire the ones on site.

A group of friends and I booked the twilight spa package.
I have visited here before as had another friend in the group. We both agreed it had gone down hill since our last visit. Especially in the Cafe.
Whilst the roof top pool is always a nice spot it felt over crowed this time.
The ice room wasn’t open and the steam rooms were packed and people were waiting outside them for others to leave.
The worse part my FAR was the food as part of the package.
The soup and meat platter was very poor. Not only a strange combination. It was very basic and not enjoyable.
The service was awful!!!!. Wrong food given to our table, then they came to take it back. We all got our food at different times. Then the food was just dumped on one end of the table for us to sort. The cafe changed all our moods from relaxed to totally the opposite. All we kept getting is sorry and I will try and sort it now. Even to the point an allergy from another table got mixed up with a different allergy on our table. Which could have had serious consequences. Think the spa needs to re look at the amount of people they let in on a session and re training asap for the cafe staff. It’s seem they have cut corners on the quality of food and service. To get as many people in and feed them as cheap as possible. Real shame as I used to really enjoy visiting here.

We went with my girlfriend's parents for what we thought would be a relaxing couple of hours. Unfortunately, as they let every man & his dog in (greed, most likely), it was anything but.

Nice place but needs a good clean and is way too crowded with the pools filled with bodies and the other facilities also crammed.

Not worth the money at all.
