We contacted Celtic Horizons (recommended in Rick Steves's latest guide book-England) by email about a private tour in The Cotswolds, since we're Americans and don't like to drive in the UK. Our initial inquiry was answered promptly, and the price was reasonable so we booked a day trip about a month in advance of our visit. Using my guide book and the internet, I chose about four villages to visit plus a manor house and gardens (Hidcote).
The owner of Celtic Horizons, Neil, was our driver and guide for the day. He picked us up at our hotel in Bath. In each village Neil pointed out sites, and we walked the streets and explored. Born and bred in Bath, Neil answered our many questions and provided us with a fascinating history of the area. This was the first private tour that we had ever booked, and it proved to be our best day of travel during our trip. We would definitely book with this company again!

My wife and I had an incredibly enjoyable day touring Cotswolds villages with Neil. The weather held up. We were dropped off for 30 min walks around the most picturesque streets and mansions, then met Neil at the car park to drive to the next village. He knows the small country roads, the history and how to avoid the big tour bus groups. We saw at least half a dozen gorgeous Cotswolds villages. This was well worth the price even for just one couple, lasting from 9:00 until about 6:00. You can tailor your own trip or use the guide’s recommendations (as we did). Our photos matched everything you can find on the web.

We used Celtic Horizons for 3 specific things: Airport pickup and drive to Bath, which was perfect! Neil watched our flight, was clear in his info on where to meet him and actually gave us great info and conversation on our trip to our hotel in Bath! 2. Next day we had Ray who picked us up and did 8 hours in the Cotswold. it was incredible day. We saw the towns we wanted to and Ray was great! 3. Ray also drove us from Bath to central London for our stay there! Again, friendly, on time and all 3 days a wonderful sedan as well. We recommend Celtic Horizons to anyone who is going to the Bath UK area!

Amazing full day private tour of the Cotswolds with Celtic Horizons! Ray was more than accommodating with which villages we’d like to see and made it an unforgettable day!

Used Celtic Horizons for tranfer from Heathrow (with a stop at Stonehenge) to Bath and the next day we did a transfer from Bath to Oxford (with Cotswold Discovery Tour). Our driver, Ray, was prompt and informative. Very easy pick up at the airport. We would use them again if in England.

Hi Celtic Horizons. Just wanted to say thank you for your great service. From our initial enquiry Kal was so efficient and helpful. The meet & greet procedure at the airport was seamless. We had no problem finding Neil at the airport and the drive to Bath was fantastic in a modern, comfortable, smart saloon car. Neil , who was born in Bath gave us priceless tips on the way to enhance our stay. Strongly recommend this service. It's just not worth getting the train and all the hassle associated with it.

I used Celtic Horizons for our airport transfers. Booking process via their on line website was very easy. Payment, communication regarding drivers and meet and greet procedures were fantastic. We were in their brand new mini bus. Very spacious and comfortable. Our drivers were Ray and Neil. Very good drivers, polite and on time. Highly recommend.

Great experience with Celtic Horizons picking us up at Heathrow and driving us to Bath. Our driver Neil was courteous, friendly and informative. He gave us many tips on Bath and answered our many questions, all while driving carefully! Highly recommend!!

We used Celtic Horizons to travel from Heathrow to Bath. We had several delays prior to our arrival but we established excellent communication with CT and the driver was able to meet us with perfect timing. The trip to Bath was very smooth, enlivened by a lovely conversation. Highly recommend.

We hired Celtic Horizons for an airport transfer from Heathrow to Bath (with a stop in Oxford). Just off an overnight flight, Neil met us in the terminal and got us out of the airport smoothly and quickly and in plenty of time to meet our walking tour in Oxford. Neil was informative and entertaining (and VERY kind to teddy bears). Engaging Celtic Horizons was a great way to start off our England trip. Thank you! Highly recommend!

Hi, appreciate advice on if tipping the driver is customary. Thank you. Airport pick up with a pass through Stonehedge on the way to Bath.

Hello and thanks for your question.
All our drivers are expected to provide a high level of service without the expectation of a tip. It is, however, still customary to tip drivers in the UK (often around 10% of the fare) if you so wish and have received a good level of service.
