Compared to the Roman baths in this historic city, the Kennet & Avon Canal is a relative newcomer at just 200 years old. However, its gentle curves are the perfect complement to the formal elegance of Bath’s Georgian architecture, leading you on tranquil towpath walks out towards the Wiltshire Downs.

A lovely walk along the towpath brought us out in Bath Locks. 6 locks just off Bath centre, it's well worth a visit if you have time to spend.

Stumbled accross this fab pub on the river walk. Great stop off, beautiful situation in the beer garden and first class fish and chips!

I think my title says it all. A lovely walk that takes you past beautiful apartments and boats and ends up at the weir. Beautiful views of the city and easy access to the places of interest. Really worth a go

Nice walk to do with your partner. One of the locks is really deep with is fascinating. There are plenty of benches to rest on and also the nearby meadows are lovely to walk through or have a picnic in.

When in Bath, do as the locals do and take a long walk along the Avon and Kennet Canal. Start by the railway station, cross the Avon River then turn left. After a short bit you will come to where the Avon & Kennet Canal...More
