I came here with my husband and twin 7 year old girls. We bought 2 trail activity books for the girls which they enjoyed filling in and it made sure we walked around all the grounds. We also did a guided tour of the castle which was very informative. A lovely day out!!

Dunster in North Somerset is a great place to visit if you want to see traditional England. The Water Mill is a great experience and the Castle is within the same walk, the Castle gives you an in-depth view of the workings of the Castle.

Beautiful castle overlooking a beautiful little town. There was an Archery Tournament in the field below which added to the medieval atmosphere.

On cold days wrap up well and wear a hat it can get very cold from the wind. Beautiful setting with fantastic views over to the coast. Some steep walks so wear decent walking shoes or you could get caught out. Walk to the water mill (working) at the bottom of the hill and get a kiss and photo on... More

Although quite a steep climb up to the top - apparently there is a shuttle service if you prefer - the castle grounds are an interesting walk, with lots of exotic plants and views over the Bristol Channel. The water mill at the bottom is really interesting, with lots of old machinery.

We visited Dunster Castle in January with our dogs. It's dog friendly and there are only a few places the dogs aren't allowed, which include inside the castle itself and in the tea rooms. We walked pretty much the whole grounds, which are beautifully kept and there are many interesting things to look at such as the water mill, the... More

Being winter, you can only see limited areas inside with a guide. Most of the furnishings were covered for the winter so it was a very different view. But having a guide meant getting interesting background on the history of the property.

We were lucky enough to get a tour of the castle today as I understand that it's normally closed to visitors or very restricted at this time of year. As usual, the tour guide made all the difference and my thanks go out to Phil for an entertaining and knowledgeable tour that kept all in our group engaged. We really... More

We were a groupd of 4 and we had a tour around the old working parts of the castle such as the kitchen, bell-boy's room, etc. We saw some of the entertaining areas which used to be used by the old family there. Beautifully maintained. Our guide really knew his stuff and answered all our questions. Quite a walk around... More
