About
Heart of the Country Village is a collection of converted 19th century farm buildings; now home to individual shops and boutiques as well as two restaurants. The Village, having started as a single country store in 1985, now gives life to a collection of eclectic and stylish local businesses. Attractive courtyards, both restaurants offering al fresco dining in fine weather and a large free car park. And to the delight of our young visitors, a magical Green Fairy Trail through woodlands alongside the car park. Not to be missed are the resident pigs. A lovely place to spend a few enjoyable hours either browsing, shopping or just enjoying a leisurely friendly atmosphere.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful looking area with lovely drink & eating establishments. I would certainly question this being a shopping village, not enough variety and seriously lacking in shopping choices, definitely check the website for shopping choices before you travel.
Was hoping to find some nice gift shops but sadly not!
The area could do with maybe a children’s toy shop, kitchenware, clothing, bags etc, if wanting this kind of retail outlet then don’t bother.
If passing then would definitely visit for the cafes & crepe’s but certainly wouldn’t go out our way to visit again :-(

What a huge disappointment - used to love a trip to Heart of the Country, but today the place was deserted. The Seasalt shop has closed and there are empty units. Whole place seemed so dreary- not the vibrant village atmosphere it used to have. What a shame.

We popped in for a quick drink today, and maybe a piece of cake. As soon as we spotted the menu, well, we had to have lunch didn't we?
I had tomatoes and avocado on toast, I think they were "zingy" tomatoes but they were fresh and lovely, just what was needed. R had a Halloumi, harrissa and honey toasted sandwich, which he declared was great! We had tea, coffee, a brownie and bread pudding for afters.
All the food is made on the premises, the service from Ben was polite, knowledgeable and efficient, nothing was too much trouble.
The place itself is very nice and there's outdoor seating that will be wonderful in the summer.
We've already told one friend about Nourish and planned that we'll visit soon, which probably indicates how good it is.
They also sell, tea, coffee and lots of bits that go with tea etc.. Teapots, cups, saucers, coffee paraphernalia, so many things, all fascinating!! Worth a visit just to look around, but I warn you, you won't be able to resist the food!!

Unless you live close by this really is not worth a trip. The shops are incredibly limited and aren’t particularly special. The eateries are ok but again nothing special.
The only reason I would visit again is for the superb jeweller and unique designs.

Sunday 10th April 2022, my husband and I visited The Heart Of The Country Craft Village near Lichfield, we had not been there for some time, so we decided it was time to go back for another visit.
The Heart of the Country Craft Village has very ‘specialist’ shops, which include: ‘Osprey’ for leather hand-made bags and purses, ‘Frankie Doodle’ for designer gifts, ‘La Maison Bleue’ for French shabby chic and kitchen cuisine and ‘Paul Martyn’ for hand-crafted wood furniture. There are also lots of cafes as well as a nice garden for outdoor seating.
My husband and I mooched round here for two hours but did not purchase anything.

Heart of the Country is a firm favourite for me and the other half in particular the Creperie which we’ve been coming to for 15 years. This time I came with some girlfriends and the galettes at the Creperie were spot on as always, as was the shopping at Seasalt, Osprey and La Maison Bleue. A perfect place to mooch around after lunch.

The highlight was the Biltong Shack - best I've had in a while. Otherwise I would not bother visiting again.

Nice area with bespoke shops. Easy to park. Shops surround a courtyard of planted area & seating. Toilets accessible. Number of eating places/cafe. Kids area to hunt fairies in the woods to the side.
Nice way to spend an hour or 2.

Hello,
Heart of the Country's rural location is accessible via the A38, just south of Lichfield. Walking is not recommended as the road can be busy and there is currently no footpath that leads directly to the Village.
