The estate is open, but, with the exception of the cafe, the buildings are closed currently due to COVID 19 restrictions. However, the grounds are beautiful, and there are many routes for walkers. The friendly NT staff ensured that my friend had a mobility scooter. We had not requested this; it was suggested to us. It proved a godsend as we were able to explore much further afield than we otherwise would have been able to do. The cafe was open and had a more extensive menu than the basics we thought might be on offer. Two savoury vegan food options were a welcome surprise. We will definitely return, and for longer next time. The welcome was warm and friendly, and there are acres of land waiting to be explored further.

Ensure people pay to get in - I have! Get staff into the cafes and open them! For some reason only one entrance is monitored, ie the one by the car park. There are three other methods where pedestrians can enter. One the main Milford entrance, two, the current car exit, and three, the path up from Essex Bridge. In other words people are swanning in for nothing when we NT members are paying! Also why are they allowed to bypass the track and trace? The cafe was supposed to be open today when we got there they suddenly close it at 11.10am ! Sorry I can't see the point of joining the National Trust anymore.

Lovely autumnal wheelchair walk. Well organised cafe and really appreciated the gentleman working there who recognised my husband was struggling with a big cup off coffee and offered a solution without being asked for help. That was real customer service, thank you!

We went to Shugborough a few months ago and really enjoyed walking around the grounds. Today we went to see the autumn colours. Unfortunately the experience was marred by families with young children who seemed to have no understanding of the concept of "social distancing". I understand that it ideal to take children to enjoy outdoors, but parents need to take more responsibility in these difficult times. Despite this, it was good to walk around the estate.
