    2 adults, a 3yr old and a pushchair
2 adults, a 3yr old and a pushchair… animals are all clearly well looked after but the paddocks look a bit sad and unloved. The pathways are deep gravel so we, and many others, struggled with the pushchair. Play Barn food is ok but it’s all just a bit “meh” Wouldn’t come again

    What’s happened
Been here many times before, this not was not the best. First shock was cost to get in, £12.99 for 2 year old and then adult fees! Only to told there’s no food to feed the animals …… it’s been recalled! So I guess the animals won’t be eating! Disappointing for my grandson if we’d known we wouldn’t have come. Raised concerns about matting in toddler area being a trip hazard, which the lady responded to straight away, only for it to have sand cover it over and reappear within minutes. Some of the younger staff really don’t want to be there…. All in all a let down.

Nice weather made it good day, needs some maintenance, no accident/incident log book
With beautiful weather we had a lovely day out here, my 2 little granddaughters aged 15months and 2 and half enjoyed the sandpits, indoor play area, outside play park and the animals. There is a lot of maintenance required to bring it up to scratch but it doesn't seem there are many staff. The food we had in the cafe was ok. I tried to get an incident logged in an accident book but seems the staff are unaware of there being one! I've attached a photo of an unattended water butt trailer with the hitch sticking out right in the walkway and very difficult to notice if you are watching out for little ones or just not expecting something to be sticking out like that!! I very badly bruised my shin bone and could have been a very nasty incident for an older person or little one running into it. The only thing I could do was right down what had happened on a peice of paper with my details and was told the manager would get in touch with me. Not heard anything! And surely they shoukd have an accident report/log at a place like this.

    Disappointed
Took my 3 year old granddaughter and her 3 year old friend. The website said it was £8.99 admission for children. I paid £12.99 and was told it was 'peak time' as it was school holidays. Most children went back to school the same day but these two little ones aren't even school age. They make their own rules up! I found the farm to be quite small and not many animals. The children enjoyed the trampolines. The toilets were dirty and some didn't flush. Lock on the door was broken and I think there should be small sinks and lower hand dryers, considering they have a lot of children visiting. Just a thought on how to improve. I won't be going back anytime soon.

    Trip to see Santa.
Generally a very good day but we badly planned our trip and due to the bad weather there was limitations on what we could do. Rocking up after 10am but not seeing the big man until 2pm was an issue. The indoor play area is decent but when there are "children" running around at ridiculous speeds who are the same height as me (I'm over 6ft tall), then there is an issue for my 4 and 1 year old. Some equipment also needs repaired. The grotto was very cool, a good job here. The staff are awesomely friendly and helpful. The site itself is very cool but we will save future trips for the Summer only. We will be back though.

    A disappointing day out
Visited with younger family members, having not been for a few years. On arriving in the courtyard, I was disappointed to see no animals where once they used to be in the pens. The bakery, which was also in the courtyard, had disappeared as well as several other shops. We then went to the main entrance and realised the bakery was now merged with a butchers and deli. The bakery section was not as varied as before and was very overpriced. We then went through an empty room with go karts and then into a little shop with a gate where we were charged a lot of money to enter, which was more expensive for children. We found some lovely animals with the odd play area for children, but most things were £2 for children to play on. We then went back to have a bacon sandwich only to be told they had stopped serving hot food at 2.30 when the place clearly closed at 4.30! While sitting with a coffee and chocolate staff were noisily putting chairs away and vacuuming! The staff in the café were not particularly friendly. What had happened to the lovely restaurant and the craft shop....? All in all a disappointing visit and won't be returning sadly.

Ordered meat hamper for Xmas, picked up on 23/12, also picked up 6duck eggs for my tea that night. Broke the eggs in frying pan when the most rancid rotten liquid came pouring out filling my house with rotten odour. Fast forward to xmas day where I cooked the gammon and turkey for myself and family, since then myself and my partner have been awfully sick (without being too graphic) all through xmas day night and currently, thankfully my kids never had any turkey so they have been fine, I cannot 100% prove it was this meat but I know it is especially as the smell of them eggs hasn’t left me yet. I have had to throw away the rest of the hamper

Spend many years coming to Amerton and use to visit a few times a month with my young children 4 and 6 but it’s just not the same anymore.
The best bit about amerton was the bakery and even that’s closed. There use to be a fantastic garden Centre/craft shop which did the most beautiful gifts but that’s been replaced with an empty space with a few go karts in the middle. As you walk through from the farm shop now it feels very mismatched.
The farm shop never have a very big stock of anything so you’re lucky to even find vegetables and it could be amazing but always dark in there and looks half closed!
Always use to be loads going on in the court yard with rides and activities but now it just stands empty with a few independent business’ which are probably more sustainable but just ruin the vibe or amerton farm.

Very disappointed it was a very hot day and the animals needed water.
There should of been someone attending to them. The small goats couldn't even reach there water.
We did report this. The lady radioed to tell someone but this should not have happened.
Thought the animals were to spread out very difficult to walk on the paths with large stones and pushing a pushchair.
The animals didn't try to come up to us which made this un interesting.
Since this has changed hands in my opinion has gone down in every way it cost us over 30 to get in.
Billy barn farm was very hard to keep an eye on your child. Big children in the under 2s only.
Very sorry but I'm taking my grandchildren to Haughton ice cream farm much better venue and doesn't cost a penny.
You can buy some food for the animals and they love it.
The bird sanctuary is a small cost but very informative and the children get to see the birds up close.
Sorry amerton but you need to make the venue a more enjoyable place.

I visited Amerton Farm with my two children this week, we have been many times before and had a wonderful time, this visit was sadly very disappointing.

Firstly, I was shocked at the cost of entry, nearly £33 for myself and two young children. After paying full price to get in I then asked about the animal feed. I was told they hadn’t got any. I don’t know what the animals would have been eating and they should have been upfront about the fact that we wouldn’t be able to feed the animals. If we were informed of this at the start I would have gone elsewhere as my children were really disappointed about this.

When we got into the farm and explored the outdoor areas we noticed that the Guinea pigs and rabbits had been moved and their former pens were really overgrown and not maintained.

We found the outdoor seating to be lacking, I was shocked to be told that if we had brought our own picnic with us we would need to eat it in the car park!

We went in the cafe to have lunch . One positive - the brownie I had was delicious.

The toilets were not very clean, broken lock on the toilet door, very limited soap for hand washing.

Upon leaving I did plan to get a few bits from the farm shop but after seeing the recent food hygiene rating result online I decided to give it a miss and go straight home.

It was a very disappointing visit and sadly we have no plans to return.

I’ve been visiting Amerton farm for years and it is usually a nice day out for young children but, this time it was awful.
There was no feed for the animals but you are not made aware of this until after you have paid full price as there is no mention online or social media. Seems a bit unfair to pay full price when half of the fun is feeding the
animals and you can’t do it.

The grounds are a mess, abandoned small animal enclosures, boggy conditions when it has rained, the air bouncers have no longer got any seating and the terrain surrounding it is very unlevel and dangerous.

Billy play area is tired looking and the food selection is pretty poor.

The shop looked abandoned, the shelves were empty and no lights on.

I’m sad to say I won’t be returning. It’s a shame to see what was once a nice day out turn into this.
