I was a bit nervous about how the day would go having read a few reviews on here, as the experience was a present for my mum, but we had a lovely day doing the pottery painting and afternoon tea. The staff weren’t the most enthusiastic as a few people have said, but it wasn’t anything that affected our enjoyment. The only downside was we felt we needed a bit longer for the painting session, but I understand they’ll want to get as many groups in as possible as it is popular. I can’t wait to see what our pieces turned out like. The afternoon tea was lovely and very filling, too!

The tour was amazing, our guide was excellent and it was so interesting to learn how each piece is made from start to finish! He was knowledgeable and engaging and brought the whole experience to life.

Pottery painting was quite a different story. The staff working just seemed uninterested when we turned up and we had to wait a while to even be approached.

We arrived to the pottery painting room and were pointed to a table and told to choose our pottery, nobody told us how the process worked or that we were supposed to go up to get paints then put them back or where even where the fresh water was. We felt awkward and intrusive.

Our slot started at 11:00 and it's an hour and a half. At 12:00 one of the staff approached with a card machine telling us we needed to settle our bill. I was mid painting and rushing to finish my design, so I told her I'd be a few moments but she stood over me as I painted, making me feel even more rushed.

On our way out I said thank you to the two members of staff (two girls) who did not even turn around to acknowledge me or respond.

We did a factory Tour and a paint a pot session on our visit. The guy who did our tour was fab, really knowledgeable but also made it fun. I've seen quite a few people complain about the pain a pot session so just wanted to say we had a great time and our items came within a week of our visit, and came out just as expected. Agreed it would have been nice to enjoy a cuppa whilst doing it however I suppose they have to cater for people knocking things over and this contaminating your pot. You do not want your tea spilling onto a pot you are painting! Some of the sponges were ready for replacing but there was plenty of choice. Do not go expecting them to share their famous designs with you or expect your pot to turn out like theirs and you won't be disappointed. I got some items from the factory shop at a discount where I could see no difference to the full priced items- you just have to search for these. Overall would highly recommend!

The whole range can be purchased here but there are no bargains. I was disappointed that seconds, very obvious seconds, are very little less than perfect goods. Might as well wait for a sale at the local department store to get better bargains.
The onsite restaurant was very good although the potted clotted cream was a definite flop - not to be recommended. Other than that we enjoyed everything we ordered, all served on a mishmash of Emma Bridgewater crockery, which was really attractive.

A fantastic day out with my two girls 20 & 15 years. Afternoon tea which was delicious the sandwiches, cakes and scones and cream all tasted great this was followed by a factory tour our guide Lorraine was amazing and the tour was very interesting, then off to decorate and print/paint a piece of pottery. There was still plenty of time to spend browsing (and purchasing!) items from the factory and gift shop, free parking too - such a memorable day.

Wow this really blew me out of the water when the missus told me she wanted to go visit this factory where mugs are made I thought oh great this is gonna be a total snore fest and boy was I wrong! We went round the two shops on site and I picked up a little gift for the missus it wasn’t as expensive as I once thought it was I guess because they didn’t have to wrap it up and post it to us but yeah that was lovely! And then we went on the factory tour which I found actually so interesting we had a fabulous guide who really gave us an informative but not too blabbering tour round the factory where all the workers seemed chipper and relaxed considering it was about nine o clock in the morning! I would’ve been in bed with a brew but these hard workers were already up completing tasks! Cafe was delightful I had the brownie and I have to say it really floated my boat! Thankyou to the lovely ladies at EB for making mine and my missus day!

We had a lovely tour round the factory I think the guide was called Carol. She was informative without being boring and she could answer any questions.
We also had a breakfast there which was so well presented.
The shop just invites you to buy especially after you hear how much work each piece takes

3 of us booked into the decorating studio. Arrived and the lady greeting us didn’t seem to know what was going on, she told us to sit at a table which we did and on the table there is an A4 plaque with some info on, but we were not once told by any member of the staff what we need to do or where to start. We started fumbling around the room finding things, but didn’t know where to get the items from as we hadn’t been told. I asked at the desk if we can decorate some bowls and then they seemed to realise they had forgotten about us and came to take our order. It seemed very badly managed and organised and you only get a short amount of time to design compared to all other pottery studios I’ve been to. You are also not allowed to have cafe items whilst you paint which seemed odd as surely that’s part of the fun, have a nice coffee and slice of cake whilst you decorate, but not here. The paints are poor and the sponges are terrible. Considering I love the floral designs they do, I had high hopes, but honestly it was just shocking. The cafe staff were unfriendly and the food wasn’t very good. The seconds shop isn’t really much cheaper. Still £18.75 for a seconds mug and you can get items cheaper online. When our self painted bowls arrived, I was disappointed to see the pencil I used to draw my stencil hasn’t been burnt off and the glaze isn’t good. I have done pottery painting before in other studios and all times the items had been cheaper and better quality and you can drink coffee and eat cake and the staff had been friendly and informative. Honestly there is no point coming to the factory. Please just go to a local pottery place and have a much better experience. Photos attached as evidence where you can still see the pencil marks and the poor quality paint and stencils they provide.
