    King of the tours!
Fab. Cathy was amazing and spent two hours with us. Brilliant historical tour but also delivered with a sense of humour and also a true love of GK. The roof view was amazing and tasting was so good. Seeing the mechanics of the operation was a real treat and the sense of history was so clear to feel. Lovely to taste the full range of beers as well the eat the malts alongside side the beers, was super. Huge thanks to John who organised this with Dean, my good friend. What a company!!
I am glad you enjoyed the tour we hope to host you again in the cafe soon

I visited with my octogenarian parents on Good Friday. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed the tour and even though I hadn’t really a clue what to expect, I’d 100% recommend it to anyone. Our brilliant tour guide, Steve, certainly knew his stuff; the tour was very interesting and informative but crucially, it was all delivered in a marvellously witty fashion. As we progressed around the site, Steve posed questions to win a free beer (I’m not giving away any answers) and the tasting session at the end certainly did not disappoint. I particularly liked the opportunity to smell and taste some of the key ingredients in beer making plus who doesn’t like a freebie to take home?! The whole experience was so good I’ve booked another tour for my next visitors. A big thumbs up. 👍🏻
I am glad you had a good time with Steve we hope to see you in the cafe again soon

    A great session
We've never done the tour before, or learned of the history of how the brewery was started, so when family were over from Sydney, Australia, we found it the perfect time to visit. Our Brewery Ambassador Chris absolutely made it. He was knowledgeable and fun. Unfortunately, the great British weather prevented us from the rooftop views, but the 7 samples of fresh beer made up for it! Highly recommended. We'll be enjoying our complimentary bottle of Coronation ale today!
Glad you and your visitors had a great time

There are beers and there are Real Ales.
Undoubtedly the best brewery tour that I've been om so far. What our guide, Steve, doesn't know about the history isn't worth knowing and the range of beers is extensive to sat the least. Something for most, if not all, tastes. I've found a few new favourites.
Thanks for your review we are glad you enjoyed our tour

    Enjoyable tour of Brewery
This was a gift from our daughter and son in law as Abbot Ale is my husband’s favourite! The tour was interesting not only about the beer making but the history of the town too. Our tour guide, Chris, was excellent! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Tasting at the end was very generous and a bottle of your choice to take away included. Nice coffee shop/restaurant there too.
We are glad you enjoyed your tour

    Great afternoon out!
The afternoon was superb! In the cafe all the staff I met were polite and helpful and the tour itself hosted by Steve was informative and interesting with a great view from the roof! The subsequent tasting was generous and knowledgeable and on a very hot day, very welcome!

Best Brewery tour we’ve ever been on
We’ve visited Bury St Edmunds several times but finally got around to the Greene King Brewery tour. As my partner is a keen home brewer, we always like to visit breweries. This was the best tour we have been on. Robin our guide was excellent. His presentation was very informative and engaging. There was an extensive tasting at the end of the tour which helped to increase our understanding of the differences between the various brews. This was followed by a free bottle of your choice as a takeaway gift. An excellent way to spend a couple of hours.
we are glad you enjoyed your tour I will pass your comments to Robin

A fantastic way to spend a couple of hours in Bury St Edmunds
Superb brewery tour given by Chris. Entertaining and informative in equal measure, we came away with a bit more knowledge of the history, brewing process and social impact Greene King have had on the local community, Chris is an excellent guide, we thoroughly enjoyed his and the other staff members time. The tasting was excellent and going home with a free beer and a discount on shop purchases finished off a superb couple of hours.
    thanks for your review

Absolutely brilliant afternoon being shown around the Brewery by Kathy. The tour is really well planned and detailed. Lots of steps to climb but well worth the view of Bury St Edmunds when you get to the top. Kathy is very knowledgeable and so friendly. The beer tasting as part of the tour is great too. Lots of different ones to try and a free bottle to take home. Very much worth the money.

Food was top Tier.
The Steak and Chicken Fondu was amazing.
The Service was also superb.
When we came in, we were greeted with a smile and given a polite reminder to add our registration number to the machine.
Our food order was taken by a young man with the best manners.
And then the waiting staff was prompt in bringing our food out and also ensuring our table was cleared as soon as everyone was done.

Was taken by wife and family as part of a birthday treat.
Have been on a good few brewery tours in the past, some small others large but this has been by far the most enjoyable.
Was welcomed by our guild, have forgotten her name already and it was only yesterday (sorry).
Her delivery of the tour was warm and passionate.
She gave an enlightening account of the history of the brewery and surrounding area keeping it light and interesting.
After the tour we all sat and was given a generous samples of the beers which are brewed.
After deciding which was our favourite we were given a token each to exchange for our choice.
All in all I would highly recommend this tour to all.

John Higgins.

Had been looking forward to the tour for a while and wasn't disappointed. Paul our guide was great and blended history, technical knowledge and humour to provide a very enjoyable afternoon. The tastings were obviously a great way to end the tour before a couple of purchases in the shop. Would recommend this tour of it's your idea of fun which for us, it was!

First time in Bury. Decided to Visit the Brewery today to do the tour with my wife. Our tour guide was John - what a lovely guy.

We walked the working brewery and John explained how everything works. I expected it to be bursting with staff but apparently they do all the work in the evening and brew in the day due to noise and smell. Very interesting tour.

John then took us to a private seating area where we all sat around a large table( the best bit!) He gave us all samples of the beer produced at the brewery whilst explaining a bit about each one. Some were quite strong…..don’t drive home!

I would recommend this tour if visiting Bury. It’s value for money and we both enjoyed it. Thanks John!
