Lovely sunny Sunday morning spent wandering around

The gardens looked superb, as always. So nice to step away from the traffic and wander around looking at the architecture, plants, aviaries, etc.

The Abbey gardens are a fantastic place to escape the world or do some work. I love to sit and work on my laptop in the gardens whenever the chance presents itself.

These gardens must be among the most beautiful of public formal gardens run by local councils. Hats off to St Edmundsbury to keeping them going.

Well kept gardens. Even in March, there were plants to enjoy. Paths wind around neat beds and there must be a good display later on in the year.

You really have a nice place to wonder here from seeing animals to wondering around the flower beds. The squirrels can be friendly, but please follow their advice on feeding them.

Beautifully maintained gardens, with a historical element with the old Abbey in the grounds, all within a short walking distance to the shopping mall and amenities.

My first day in Bury St. Edmund started off great with a visit to Abbey Gardens! I loved learning the history of this place, seeing the ruins of the old monastery, enjoying the gardens and seeing my nephew play in the children's area! It's a lovely place to visit for the first time, or just to enjoy the serenity and... More

The gardens here are stunning and forever changing. The children love it and have plenty to do - sand pit is the best (with water pump), play area, bird aviary, cafe etc. Summer days are lovely. One criticism only - the toilets are too far from the children's play area so 'have a try' with pre-schoolers at the top of... More

The Abbey Gardens is a hidden delight of Bury St. Edmunds. Large grassy areas. Picnic places and the river Lark, which has a history all of its own. Its a great place for families, couples and groups. Great place for to sit and eat your lunch.
