With or without the actual farmers' market, Lavenham is a must see even if it requires a diversion from your route. The village streets are jaw droppingly amazing with the many timbered buildings and toppling upper storeys, However do not fail to turn up Market Lane and be prepared to be stunned by the square and Guildhall which is revealed.... What a hidden treat to stumble across! We hadnt planned a stop but were so glad we did. Was a gorgeous little market atop the hill, but the real highlight according to my daughter was the fact that quite a few buildings were used in some of the Harry Potter films, especially the Guild Hall close to the markets. She... More

It was great to discover this happening on our Sunday visit. It takes place in the rather nice village hall that appears to have been built in recent times and offers an ideal venue. There were an interesting range of offerings from fruit and veg, through meat, chilli sauces to fragrant soaps plus a cafe. The toilet facilities are very... More

Many thanks for your review of Lavenham Farmers' Market. I'm really pleased you your experience and I hope you'll come back again soon. The market was about to be closed down when I took it over in 2008 and since then it has gone from strength to strength. It is a market that we are very proud of and it... More

Local produce hasn't been transported miles, most products of very high standard and not as pricey as you may think. Have brought fresh veg, bread, cakes and wonderful burgers and sausages with no gristly bits just full of meat. Can find a good selection of flowers, bottled fresh apple juice and can enjoy a cake or breakfast.

we were in Lavenham and saw the Farmers market leaflet...it was a disappointment as there were far less stalls with produce on show. perhaps because it was held inside the town hall. One bright spot there was one guy selling some superb spicy sauces. Perhaps that was the high light

Thanks for your review of Lavenham Farmers' Market. I'm sorry you felt disappointed with the market. On that particular day we did have eight regular traders who were unable to make the market, this is always frustrating. A lack of sunshine had meant the strawberries had not harvested, the local mushrooms had also not come through, three traders were unwell... More

This is the best Farmers Market I have visited for a long time. Really great selection of produce, friendly stall holders, not expensive and a good cafe. Will definitely return.

On a trip to Lavenham which is a truly beautiful medieval village in Suffolk we were delighted to find that there was a Farmers Market in the village that day, I was delighted that the market was buzzing with lots of people and there was a vast array of local traders from homemade local pies to fresh cut flowers, we...
