We looked this country park up before we went, looked like a good place to get a walk in.
When we arrived there was a notice that the tea room Jenny Wrens was closed, no longer open due to ill health. Shame.
There were walks but very short ones, we did a couple of circuits then decided to move on.
Oh there was an icecream van.

Jenny Wren's Tea In the Park is delightful. 40's theme. Nearly all food is home-cooked and delicious. Idyllic location, overlooking a pond. Sat there and watched all sorts of wildlife, while having a lovely cream tea. Such a nice lady running it too.
The park itself is beautiful too, especially down by the river. Sad to see the lakes so covered in weed though - need attention.
Lovely walk as a couple or picnic and adventures with the kids.

No public toilet facilities. Had to use the pubs and restaurants in order to use the toilet. Just not acceptable. If they want visitors to come and spend money they need to supply clean public toilets that people are happy to pay for. It is not rocket science. Just get off your backsides and do some work.

My family and I just returned from the country park, after a lovely walk and picnic we called in and picked up an ice cream for my niece, on the way home we bumped into my father in law and friend who were about to have lunch. We decided to join them for a drink. As we arrived the man working there mentioned to my father in law that they were almost out of milk. ( him and his friends eat there at least 4 times a week) so he offered to drive into town and buy him some. While we were waiting for him to return we sat down and bought drinks. I took out some chicken left over from our picnic to give to the dog. We were told to move away and that the tables were not for picnics, myself and my husband tried to explain the misunderstanding but he wouldn’t let us explain. Being to told to clear off when we are paying customers is not in my mind acceptable and extremely rude. He made us feel like criminals and will never go back. He stank of cigarettes and this in itself is a food hygiene concern in itself. Such a shame as it’s a lovely setting. We will never return neither will my friends.

We were looking for some where different to have a picnic and very fortunately came across this one. It has a car park which would house about 20 cars, there are loos, picnic benches and some delightful way marked walks. We sat on a blanket on the sloping grass to have our picnic; there were only a few other people when we arrived but in no time lots more people had arrived enjoying the afternoon sun. some like us were having a picnic, others went off for a walk, someone went off on her bike whilst others played football and rounders and some just lay in the sunshine and sunbathed. When reading about the park I was humbled to read this is all possible because of a group of willing volunteers who set about the massive job of clearing the site for other people's pleasure and I sincerely thank them for this, it is a haven an you could spend hours there. We ventured off for a little walk along a footpath over a bridge along by the River Stour where we met a lady who had just walked from Sudbury which was about 3 miles. I would recommend any one to go along and RELAX for a while in a most delightful area.

A huge amount of work has been done to improve the Country Park and it is now a lovely place to go to. The lakes have really been opened up and look superb in the sunshine. There are also lovely walks along the river bank and a nice picnic area with a small cafe. It's not a huge park but a great amenity especially as we live very close by. A big thank you to all those involved in the improvement work.

I popped into the park on my way to Melford Hall. It's a pleasant area, not as big as I expected but nice enough. Certainly good for picnics. Seems to be popular with dog walkers (I'd left my pooch at home).

A brilliant country park filled with wildlife. It has a pond and a swamp. The pond has natural ducks and swans, probably the most ducks I have seen in my life. Feed them bread and it will be an experience you won't forget as 200 ducks charge toward you!
It's a very green area, plenty of space to park and the parking is free :) The county park is located near to the parishes of Borley and Liston just near the bridge as you enter the roads that lead up to them parishes.
I would fully recommend a visit!! 5*

Crammed full of interest from one end of the wide main street to the other, lots of nice shops to browse and places to eat, a village with a lot of character and worth a stop and a walk
